Zafran Biryani Hut — Restaurant in Siliguri

Should be zero stars. Fresh from the UK visited at the end of Feb 2019 and happened to be staying in a flea ridden hotel round the corner so we visited this place after reading reviews which seemed legitimate. All three of us came down with severe food poisoning after eating the biryani here, diarrhoea every hour through the night for 2 days and 5 full days to recover. Made the trip to Darjeeling memorable for the wrong reasons. Visit if you want to ruin your trip.

The give away should have been the lack of fresh biryani. Given we were the only people in the restaurant and ordered 3 biryani’s the last one took 10 minutes to arrive so the other guys had almost finished. I can only assume they were swilling it in the sewer outside to make it extra special.

And what’s more off putting is the guys in there insist on sitting with you and watching you eat with smiles on their faces. Very false and disgusting people. They even took photos with us, presumably to laugh at later knowing we would be seriously ill and almost hospitalised in the following days.

Rotten place, avoid at all costs. Don’t believe the shiny photos on google. And if you visit here make sure you have travel insurance as god knows what disease you...

The owner of this resturant is very rude.I ordered the briyani he served it after 20 mins .I asked for raita he rudely said he doesn't keep .Than i ordered sprite bottle which was priced at 10 .They charged 20 and on saying said rudely it's charged 20 at table .I have never seen such a rude owner.I didn't demand Ac first of all instead of saying false stuff learn to behave and work at your service .Higher than MRP doesn't mean you will charge double.And i am paying so being customer i can place my demand if i want leg piece or some other you can say no there are...

We got a chicken roll and paneer roll Chicken roll was actually pretty good 8/10 But for my fellow vegetarians be ready to get disappointed with the veg options .
