Ahaan Restaurant - Daiwik Hotels Rameshwaram — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I am writing this review after struggling to get decent food in pretty much all the well- known eating joints of Rameswaram. As a tourist from north India, it is quite a struggle to be able to get palatable north indian food anywhere in this small temple- town but Ahan restaurant was such a pleasant surprise. We had lunch , dinner & breakfast buffet here and not only the food served was tasty , but also there was a fairly large variety to choose from. The place was very hygienic, clean & We maintained. They had only vegetarian options but both north & south indian varieties. Even had pasta, noodles , pancake, toast, cereal etc as well. The spice level was moderate and the desserts like ice cream, fruits, halwa, payasam, cake etc were such a breath of fresh air. I think based on my own experience of trying out food in different places in Rameshwaram, I can easily say that this is by far a cut above place , both foid- wise & ambience- wise. The staff is very friendly & courteous ( special mention to Miss Shaheen & Mr. Niraj ).The washrooms are neat and clean ( a serious point if you are a female traveller). Thanks to the food served here that me and my mom who recently finished her chemotherapy & wasn't able to digest food anywhere else, were able to eat properly. A pleasant DISAPPOINTMENT! Water glasses with lipstick mark (of previous user), spoons not cleaned well, 30 mins of cook time. The other 2 tables also had the same issue. Just bcas we ordered we sat down and couldnt leave - there were not much options out there in Rameshwaram!

Uncooked rice was served for an order of plain rice bowl for a senior citizen! When asked for replacement of well cooked rice got back the rice that was just heated in oven. Asked replacement again the same rice bowl was given. But bill was 1X3 rice!!! Prices are as equal to Chennai, Blr but not reciprocal to taste, quality just the ambience which we cannot eat. Serious disappointment for the price vs quality for 7K paid for 6ppl.

For sure, they serve with :-) SMILE :-) on the face - the same person cleans the table as well as gets food from kitchen, when asked - oh the wry, mellowed smile said it all!! Al-carta quantity per order was good.

Just a costly disappointment of 2025, financial year end Sunday lunch buffet...

Except the food everything was good, nicely they attended, service was prompt, ambience was also okay. Food was really bad and expensive. Totally not worth the money. So please don't go there

Reply: I know you are not a kirana store and you can charge more. And because of your professionalism I have appreciated your service ( only if you can read positive comments as well). Now coming to your food a little briefly, both of your starters were cold, being professional you guys should have checked that Your aloo bharwan, still some parts of potatoes were raw. There was no Schezwan taste in your triple schezwan rice. Biryani was cold. Only thing I liked in main was paneer, plain rice and daal. You had nothing except some pastries in the name of dessert and kheer. Ice cream was outside It was already melted. So overall the food was bad.
