I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, but this experience compelled me to do so. I am not here to blame anyone, but this restaurant is simply not worth the hype. If you're looking for a high-end, cozy restaurant just for the sake of showing off, then this might be the place for you. Now, coming to the main issue—we visited on a less crowded day for lunch around 1:30 PM, only to find that half of the menu items were unavailable. We were left with just two or three options to choose from. Another major challenge was communication. The staff, including the waiters and the person taking our order, struggled to understand us. There was a significant language barrier, as they neither understood Tamil nor English. Every time we asked for a dish, they needed us to point to its name on the menu before writing it down. While I appreciate the waiters' efforts, it is ultimately the management's responsibility to provide proper training, which they failed to do. Due to this miscommunication, we ended up being served food that we did not even order. I initially requested a pizza and a Mediterranean dish, but the staff informed us that the chicken in that dish was unavailable and suggested BBQ chicken instead. We clearly stated that we were fine with just the pizza and did not want BBQ chicken, opting instead for Mexican chicken—just two items. However, they ended up serving us three: pizza, BBQ chicken, and Mexican chicken. 🤦‍♀️

When we pointed this out, the servers appeared confused and did not seem to understand what we were saying. We requested to speak with the manager, but the staff simply responded with a broken phrase indicating that the manager was "not available."

This experience was extremely frustrating, especially having to pay for a dish we never ordered. To add to the disappointment, their handling of the situation was far from satisfactory. If you plan on visiting, be aware that the food is not worth the price listed on the menu, and the taste is quite average. I strongly recommend double-checking your order and having the staff repeat it two or three times before confirming, just to avoid any...

We (2 of us friends) were here on 30th of December 2023 for dinner and we reached around 10:05 PM. We were told that this is closing time. Later we asked them that we checked online and saw that the closing time is 11:00 PM and that’s why we came here. Then they allowed and said last order. Later we ordered 1 Maxicon Pizza, 1 Honey chilly potato and 1 baby corn chilly. Baby corn chilly was bitter in taste and full of oil, honey chilly was not fresh and not crispy taste was peculiar lastly the Mexican pizza toppings mentioned in the menu were replaced altogether with other toppings. I believe they served another pizza to our table. They said the restaurant is going to close soon and none of the staff was available to ask whether this is the pizza we ordered. Left with no choice we had to eat the pizza with black olives (which we don’t like and take special care while ordering). Later we asked for bill and informed that the other 2 items were non eatable at all. They offered us replacement of babycorn chilly. However, in the interest of time we offered no replacement and they did not charge for that. The staff were courteous though busy. The ambience was great with a bit louder music. In total we were had bad experience because of the timing I believe. I forgot to mention that garlic bread was...

We were in yercaud for a family vacation and visited this place for dinner. Service was SUPER SUPER slow, we got our soup and starters after over an hour of ordering. They seemed short staffed, anything we ask for like water, cutlery came after 30mins. In terms of the food, it was below average.

Half the items listed on their menu was unavailable, I don’t see the point of them handing over a menu. Please check with them what is available then order accordingly.

Cheesy garlic bread (not in the picture) was decent and yum, the honey chilli potato (not in the picture, very average, wouldn’t suggest you order), pink sauce pasta wasn’t great literally just edible I would say.. Pizza the garden fresh one was better than the tandoori paneer. Not a great place to visit nothing you’re missing out on as such.

Definitely overpriced for the quality and taste of the food they give. We regretted later and should have opted to have dinner at our resort instead.

The waitresses who served the piping hot soup were barely able to hold the bowl with bare hands to place it on our table and we offered to take them on our own from their tray. Suggestion to provide them with gloves or something to help them serve.

This place just seems extra hyped and overrated...

Rating 4.5/5 Basil Bakehouse is located enroute the Pagoda Point and easily locatable on the main road! There could be parking worries if you're on a 4-wheeler but we went on a weekday evening and found parking in-front of sky park in the street. The Perks of a weekday holiday is you get places fully private and Basil Bakehouse with the ambiance can be the right offering for friends/couples! We were received by a warm set of servers (mostly belong to North East) and it is a speciality cafe with a wide variety in the Menu. Since we were mostly we tried the Cream of Chicken Soup (5/5) and the Tandoori chicken Pizza (4/5) as they have wood fired pizzas. The Soup was a winner, with chicken chunks in every sip and the thickness of the cream blended well overall making it soothing for your throat in the cold weather. It was filling as well. The pizza was perfect again, we should've rather called for the Peri-Peri Chicken Pizza maybe for the spice levels would've been better but this one was cooked well too. It had a tinge of sweet flavour and a thin crust to make it taste better. The cheese was fresh and so were the veggies. Cafe does give you a good ambiance, lovely decor, well maintained cutlery and serving material.

Positives first - Food is awesome - No doubt, anyone who likes Italian, Chinese cuisine would love it (not for the ones who like regular rice/Sambar/poriyal meal ones) Ambience - was nice with all roof hangings and glass facade all side and roof Location - Right across Skypark - if u r in sky park this is a best place / walkable. Dedicated lift available. Negatives - Many - Please take it as improvement areas 😇 * Crowd Management - very poor - No one in the front desk or waiters was even asking whether I need a seat while entered/checking for a seat. I would have been happy even if they said we are busy/crowded don’t bother us 😀. They seemed busy without realizing they are in service business and basic courtesy is essential. I see many reviewers have been complaining for months on the service part during peak hours but nothing seems to be done. Avoid during peak times. * Parking - Had to park on the road * Ambience - Not a great place for summer afternoons, it was very warm, unable to enjoy food * Service - waiters had a grim on their face, seem confused at times, No clue on how things work in their own work place. Please train them. You have few other restaurants nearby in the same road.
