The Orchid Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We visited as a group of 10+ people on a Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure what kind of restaurant says that they weren't prepared for such a high number of guests. They didn't bother to seat us, took around 30 mins for that, just to avoid serving to multiple tables at the same time, because they only have one rude person waiting the tables. Since we were a group of 10+ people, the waiter had the guts to come and say, collect the order and give me a final list. Imagine we were sitting at 5+ tables and we had to cater ourselves. Requesting for a menu simply took us 15 mins. Whatever dish we tried to order, the waiter had to check with the kitchen for each and every dish I asked for, imagine his level of competence, either said it's not available, not possible now, it will take time and whatever we were able to order was horrible. People here don't know how to do briyani and the owner has the highest level of taste buds, has the guts to claim that's the best and fresh biriyani in town. We clocked in at 1:45 PM and checked out at 4:20 PM, they didn't bother to apologise, just had the corporate style of defending themselves that they did everything right, only we were late to the restaurant (1:45 PM was late!!!)

Not to drag more, the attitude of the owner, waiters was so bad, I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants to have some good time with friends and family.

Good ambience and environment. But everything eventually comes down to zero considering...

Whilst my first impression of this restaurant wasn’t great, i was prompt in voicing it out. And guess what, it now compelled me to write the edited/updated review of this restaurant.

Things most will like:- 1 - Ambience. Continues to keep up with the rest of the resorts look n feel. Certainly well invested in this area 2 - Polite and courteous staff. Super duper good. Despite giving a bad review after my first lunch meal, I saw the restaurant staff made a genuine effort to understand the concerns, noted them and worked on them to improve my rest two day experience. And that shows the signs of a good restaurant which wants to improve. 3 - Breakfast spread - Variety. Awesome dosa, idly, bhatura, lemon semiya etc. 4 - North indian curries - ordered butter chicken and chicken tikka masala (boneless). Both were superb. Their phulkas are even better and melt as you have them.

What I didn’t like. But may be only coz I’m not used to it South indian menu - a few items were good. But a few didn’t suit our palette. Coconut oil or different spice mix, bony meat, take your pick as a reason. But i was daring enough to try it and like some of it.

Overall, a good experience on all my subsequent meals after giving the first feedback. So would recommend others...

The restaurant is located in awesome location and the climate was wonderful. We reached the restaurant @1:30 PM on 09-MAY-2022. We ordered the food and it was served late... Please don't order chicken noodles and chicken fried rice - as the chicken pieces are not available in it. Chicken machurian - is frozen chicken are used and that are too hard to eat. Fish fingers they use frozen fish for making this dish... They don't use fresh meet products. For the senior citizen.... They don't provide finger bowl. The table attender also denied that they won't offer finger bowl after a request due to the person who was aged and couldn't walk but after that also the attender denied it rudely. The varieties are less compared to online menu (don't go to this restaurant based on the online menu). Even the less varieties are also not available in the peak hours.. We finished our lunch and left by 3:30 PM.... THEY DON'T HAVE MANGER THERE... THEY HAVE RESTAURANT In-CHARGE ONLY TO Take care Of the issues...
