meenakshi bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I hate to give even 1 star. Believe me or not, all negative reviews given for this restaurant is true. About meals. It's limited meals without Chappathi or chutney, and you ask for additional sambar, they give in tiny kinnam as if it's from their own house. I asked for porotta, and they said its available with kuruma. I just wanted porotta without any side dish so that i can munch it with some good side dish. The guy in reception didn't tell me the cost and i asked for 6 porotta, and he charged me for full plate porotta, that is 68x3. Kuruma we tasted, and it was like they have added Lil veggies to some water. So anyway i didn't want their curry. Now comes the strangest part. Seeing the bill i said cancel the porotta and I'll just pay for the meals. They said once billed it cannot be cancelled i gave it to the cleaning akka over there.

About the ambience, it's a hall full of smoke with no ventilation nor exhaust to pull...

One fine night I had chilli parotta in this hotel. That parotta was too hard to eat. Next day mrng i got diarrhea because of this. Doctor told the food i had last nite was the reason for diarrhea... After few days again i visited the same hotel to have breakfast i ordered idiyappam and coconut milk. Coconut milk was poor taste and very less quantity. Myself and another guy was sit on the same table waiter though we are frnds and make single bill. Then we said we are separate so requested to change the bill but the person in the counter session spit the amount into 2 half and i paid extra amount for that idiyappam when i questioned there is no proper response. Both the time got very hard experience... hereafter i will not go to this hotel and advice my colleagues also not to...

This was a surprisingly excellent choice for a stop on the highway. Service was outstanding and cost 873 for a meal for 5. The waiter was so warm and helpful and helped us plan our route. Service was quick and we ate hot food and were delighted with the experience. Thank you and I hope your hotel flourishesAll food items had high level of spice. The service was also poor. Treated like we had gone there to have food for free (But for one server who was very friendly). There are many better options in Madurai.It is a very nice joint for South Indian food. We had nice dosas and idli. The sambar and chutney were very tasty. Idiappam and idli were super tasty. The service was good. The place is ok, can be cleaner and better.
