I shared my experience on fb. Here it is..
The story is about having a breakfast at Vasanta Bhavan, Chennai where you see a rangoli adorning the entrance, a Ganesha temple on your right at the entrance and breakfast being served in a traditional SI style & satisfying to a South Indian palate.
When you go to such a restaurant where you see traditions being followed, there is a feel-good factor that blends with your belief system, adds harmony to the surroundings.
The young lady who served us today has been with the restaurant chain for over a decade, her loyalty and happiness to serve the customers, with a smiling face, speaks volumes about the owners & their culture.
Understand Vasantha Bhavan is owned by a Hindu family run by the present generation, headed by Mr Ravi Muthukrishnan, son of the founder.
The restaurant was founded by Mr A. Muthukrishnan in 1960. Hailing from the agricultural background, A. Muthukrishnan named the restaurant Vasanta Bhavan inspired by Carnatic Music legend N.C.Vasanthakokilam.
No wonder the Hindu culture spoke about the importance of clean environment (inside-out) and even elaborated on the importance of drawing a rangoli (simple or complex) that can even become a piece of art to maintain a balance with our nature.
The rounded design of rangoli creates a positive energy in the humans, bringing down their negative energy levels.
The little research available on harmonics shows that when a longitudinal soundwave agitates particles on a membrane, they settle into symmetrical patterns
To add to it, a sattvic diet includes foods that are light and healthy. In Ayurvedic practice, sattvic foods are thought to increase energy, happiness, calmness, and mental clarity.
In practice, that means eating things that are vegetarian, nutritious, fresh, and tasty. Sattvic food enhances digestion, promotes mental clarity, balances energy levels, and facilitates...
Read moreSpacious hall. On the main road. Small parking area. Good food. Good coffee. Costly , not cheap. Worth eating here. Idly with superb coconut chutney. Good quality of food delivered except Idly. though several time informed, no improvement on the quality of Idly. We were here just yesterday to grab a quick lunch. Mostly nothing was available except Thali and Dosas. We expected better considering it was peek lunch time at Phoenix mall on a Saturday. We were disappointed for sure. Anyway, we went ahead with Dosai and Uttapam. Dosa was ok, like any other fly by night operator on city street. Uttapam was not up to the mark. We have had better at other place in the city which are more reasonable with their prices as well. Other issue we faced was that we had to ask for the bill thrice. Seems everyone was so lost in their things, that they forgot to attend to customers in time and properly Funny, I thought. So, final word, its ok ok, and costly compared to the taste you get. Unless you are starving and they have space, I'll recommend to give this place a pass and consider trying some other cuisine at phoenix. We visited Vasanta Bhavan's outlet on the second floor of Phoenix Mall,Chennai, a couple of Saturdays ago. As expected, it was very busy, but the staff soon found a table for us and were very nice to our year-old grandson.
We stuck to standard South Indian dishes although the menu extends beyond these. Service was quick and pleasant and the food was quite good. Only the pista milk-shake took a long time to come and was not really worth the wait.
Overall, a pleasant experience, and preferable to eating in the mall's food court or going to a more upscale restaurant where the baby would have been uncomfortable and probably...
Read moreTotally disappointed with their food and service. Firstly, customer should be welcomed and seated wherever seats are applicable or else customer should be informed to wait until the seats are available. They don't approach us or ask anything else. We are standing in middle of the restaurant searching for seats. After 10 mins of standing we found a seat. Secondly, the server didn't approach us to take a order. We called him and still he ignores and approach the people who came after us. We really fed up with this behaviour. Coming to food, we ordered meals which is ₹155(on 28-oct-2022), they've provided sambar, rasam, buttermilk, vatha kulambu, Potato poriyal, aviyal and sweet for sakarai Pongal and limited boiled rice. The quantity of the boiled is very low. If you feel hunger definitely you'll be dissatisfied with the quantity. Paying ₹155 and leaving the hotel without filling your stomach really hurts Coming to taste, everything is not so delicious but ok. Only sakarai Pongal tastes good. Rest of dishes are ok. Ambience is good. The environment is neat and clean without flies.
Hence, Overall experience is really bad. The ambience is neat and clean and the rest of the things like service, approaching customer, food is really bad. Just don't go to the hotel which has been labelled Pure veg, Just look at the review considering all the factors like service, taste of the food, ambience and quantity they're offering.
Disclaimer: This is totally my personal experience. I'm not imposing that you shouldn't visit this restaurant. Just compare and consider every factors of all customer review and then it's...
