Pudur Fish Market — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This place is famous for fresh fish and seafoods, usually crowded during the early morning hours on Sundays. This market has around 10 to 15 shops selling different seafood items. The fish range from these fish names are in Tamil language, ( nethili, veral, Sankara, vanjaram small and large, Sheela, yeri meen, nei meen, sura etc.,) the availability of these fish varieties are dependent on seasons and fresh-catch, so some fish varieties may not be available. Apart from the fish varieties, there are other seafood items like prawns, crabs, squids available on some select shops. Highly recommend this place for seafood lovers. As this place is crowded during Sundays, there are some adjacent shops selling meat chicken and eggs as well. Ideal place for meat...

Very cramped area, never imagine coming here by car. U can't even park ur bike properly near the fish market. U have to be very careful with the sellers, they always say the rate of 1/2 kg.. They will shout like vanjaram (moonothu ambadhu roobai) Rs. 350, u may think it's cheap rate and buy 1kg, then they reveal that it's the rate of half kg.. All the sellers are unique in this practise. There is always politics between the fish cutters, they keep fighting all the day, but u keep waiting with them all the time.. Compared to the nearby kavangarai fish market this is a very average fish market with rates more than 130% of kavangarai market. If there is no other and if I want buy average fishes like mathi and sheela, I prefer going to...

Two things I would like to share,,

First - I'm part of Ambattur Location, but i prefer only this Pudur fish market ,, without even going to Ambattur market

Secondly, my brother bought a fish near his home for ₹400 rupees, but the same fish i bought from Pudur fish market for ₹200 rupees which is half of the price and very fresh My brother had food poison after intake that fish ,

So I suggest the people around Ambattur / Kallikupam / Pudur don't hesitate to travel few mins to step here to buy fresh fish...
