Extremely Disappointing Experience with Sivanjali Hotel – Incomplete Dishes, Poor Taste, and Overpriced
I recently ordered food from Sivanjali Hotel via Swiggy, and I must say that the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Both dishes were incomplete, lacking in quality, and overpriced.
Bland Taste: The rice lacked any coconut flavor, and the sambal was flat, with no spice or depth. It felt like no effort was made to make this meal enjoyable.
Declining Quality: I remember visiting your restaurant in the past and having a much better experience. It feels like the focus has now shifted towards commercial gain, with little care for the quality of food being served.
Terrible Texture: Along with the Nasi Lemak, I also received a sweet made with banana and maida, which was just as disappointing. The texture was awful—it was chewy, dense, and rubber-like, making it nearly inedible.
Total Cost: Despite receiving two incomplete and poorly prepared dishes, which feels like an absolute waste. The price does not justify the quality or taste of the food that was delivered.
Conclusion
In the past, Sivanjali Hotel was known for its good food, but my recent experience has left me questioning whether they even care about the dishes they serve anymore. It feels like the restaurant has become purely commercial, prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction. For ₹605, I was expecting much better quality and taste. I strongly advise anyone thinking of ordering from here to look for better options.

Now why just 3 stars. Because we ordered so much but only like 2-3 items. Firstly let's start with soups. We got tomato soup and sweet corn. They were super watery which means the flavor was also diluted. Didn't like them.
The time we went they said they had only the chaat items and the Malaysian food available. No south indian items were available. That was first bummer. But it's okay, we resorted to trying something new. Trying the malay food.
First comes the crispy fried baby corn. This was yummiest. It was served with 3 different sauces which were super delicious.
Then comes pasta salad which was bad. The pasta was undercooked and there was legit no seasoning, no taste in the salad dressing.
For main course we ordered Mee Goreng, Curry Laksa and Nasi Ullam. Mee Goreng was definitely the star of the meal. It was a stir fried noodles with a spot on flavor profile. Bingo on that. Nasi Ullam had a super bitter after taste because of the herbs used in excess. Curry Laksa was good.
Then comes the banana pancakes. They tasted very weird and looked nothing like the image shared on menu. Fruit salad with icecream too was very mediocre. It was like the fruits were just put together without two thoughts.
So yeah, overall, some Malay items were really good and the service was good too. But some things didn't work well and overshadowed the good...
Read moreWow. It was a mind blowing experience, the food was special. Its the best food I have had in my life. The cuisine is inspired by Indian, Chinese, malaysian dishes with innovation and wonderful addition to the existing dishes. We started with the soups - amazing the simplicity and richness of taste is an amazing combo which is hard to describe. The sauces with additions of well thought out condiments and flavours were amazing to add to it all which are made in-house by a bunch of volunteers is hard to believe. The paneer spinach momos with the sesame sauce with its secret ingredient is hard to beat. The white pasta sauce, sabudana vada, curry Laksa, soya sate, pad thai noodles all were made to perfection. It's hard to believe that everything so done so nicely and served with lots of love and happiness. Even after a few days I'm still reeling from the experience. We could feel the love behind every dish that was served, the dedication to serve something unique and keep the customers happy....
