The Cascade — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I had placed an order via swiggy for Chicken Taiwanese noodles today. Order id ending with 8031. Previously when I had ordered, the gravy of the noodles was so less that it had no flavours and the noodles soaked the entire gravy.

Therefore today I called the restaurant to add a bit more gravy, but the manager picked up and said not possible. Also previously when I had placed an order, the chef had packed in two different packed, like noodles in one packet and gravy in another so that the noodles don’t soak up the gravy. If this is the restaurant policy I don’t know how they gave it previously.

Also to be precise they never pack in containers but provide it in aluminium foil packets. I said that should not be the problem, but a little extra gravy would be helpful. He straight away declined. He kept on arguing when I asked if the food was pre-cooked ??? He could not answer and after much argument he said okay !!! Will give extra gravy.

What kind of a manager he is. Not only he is rude and unhelpful, but he was literally shouting and arguing on the phone. Secondly he cannot speak in English, so a major communication gap. I have literally paid 430 alone for one item, excluding the platform charges, delivery charges and gst. Adding those come up to 523 rs.

I believe their food is already precooked, because if a chef is preparing food fresh, just adding a little extra water and cornflour will give more gravy, so if they cannot do that, it’s already precooked and stored, and all they do is just re-heat and give it. Major RED FLAG 🚩

Edit: received my order and see this is how it has been delivered, why the manager had to argue that they don’t pack in two separate packets ??? Why argue and waste...

It was an awesome experience. Was with my family for an much awaited good Chinese cuisine after a very long time. We have tried Chinese in the past but never had a satisfying experience. Randomly chose this place after lots of speculations and finally landed here that required some convincing. The place has always been known for some remarkable ambience and noteworthy service. It wasn't any different today. Started off with sweet corn chicken soup and crab soup. We were a group of 4 and the one soup served was enough for 4 people. The quantity could satisfy 4 easily, but the amazing thing was the quality was equally excellent. We ordered Thai chili chicken and Phuket fish as starters and both were equally good. The good thing about the food here was that, at most places we get the same flavour for any dish that we eat, but here each dish had its own individual flavour. Then came the chicken fried rice which was very filling and looked appealing. No complaints whatsoever in any dish we ordered. Overall a satisfactory experience. One small request would be to serve the starters after we complete the soup since both the soup and starters arrived at the same time that we had to finish the soup quickly in order to accommodate the starters. This review is for the second time visit to the cascade when I accompanied my family. The Nungambakkam branch was quite elegant in terms of ambience. I was determined to try out the Pan fried noodles again. The starters are exquisite. Veg Momos were good (though I am not a fan of it, I really liked the sauce/chutney which came along with the momos). One thing I really loved about this hotel is the value for money. Neither have I visited many hotels, nor will I call myself a pro-foodie, but Cascade just gave a good amount of food for the price it charges.
