If you're in Pondicherry, you've got to have a meal at The Grove, an Asian kitchen. We had a lovely time chatting with the friendly and courteous host while feasting on pork and chicken momos, barbeque chicken baos, a chicken thukpa, a nonveg breakfast platter, washed down with a couple of chilled mojitos.

The taste of each of the dishes were on point. The owners supervise the kitchen staff closely, ensuring that all the dishes served on the table are plated, garnished, and balanced to perfection. The menu items are quite easy on the pocket too, so do give all the bestsellers a try--you won't regret it!

The momos are juicy and meaty. The chicken baos are excellent--the meat has a unique BBQ flavour and is tucked inside soft and warm buns that would make all your worries go away! The chicken thukpa is aromatic, steamy, and sumptuous, complete with a host of vegetables, sauces, and spices. The nonveg breakfast platter is massive with delicious ham, crispy bacon, spiced chicken sausages, salami, and egg. The host suggested we cool down with a few virgin mojitos, which helped us end a hot day on a...

I recently visited this Asian restaurant and was absolutely blown away by the flavors. I ordered the Nasi Goreng and the Chicken Thukpa, and both dishes were nothing short of excellent.

The Nasi Goreng was fragrant, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. The rice had just the right amount of smokiness and was packed with flavor in every bite. The balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy notes made it incredibly satisfying, and the accompaniments added a nice crunch and freshness.

The Chicken Thukpa, on the other hand, was pure comfort in a bowl. The broth was rich, wholesome, and aromatic with layers of flavor that made it deeply nourishing. The noodles were soft and silky, while the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. Every spoonful was hearty, warming, and soul-satisfying — exactly what you want from a bowl of thukpa.

The service was attentive, the ambience cozy, and the portions generous. Overall, this meal was a perfect mix of comfort and flavor. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic, delicious Asian food that leaves you both...

Ah, my gastronomically-inclined peregrination today led me to that sylvan sanctuary of sustenance known as The Grove in Auroville 🌿✨. There, I partook in a veritable symphony of flavours 🎶🍽️— beginning with the audaciously crunchy kurkure momo 🥟🔥, a culinary oxymoron that managed to marry crispness with succulence in one felicitous bite.

Then arrived the khao suey with beef 🍜🥩, a dish so decadent in its aromatic amalgam of coconut, chili, and coriander 🌶️🥥🌿 that one felt positively transported to the bustling night markets of Yangon—without ever leaving the tranquil shade of Auroville’s groves 🌳🕊️.

And, as though to provide a mellifluous epilogue to this repast, the thukpa 🍲💫—steaming, soulful, and serenely satisfying—wrapped me in its Himalayan warmth 🏔️❄️, a liquid lullaby for the tastebuds.

In sum, dear reader, my luncheon was nothing less than an epicurean odyssey 🚀🍴—a triumph of taste, texture, and...

The best place for authentic Himalayan and Tibetan style Cuisine. A must visit if you are in Puducherry/ Auroville! I am happy to write this review about The Grove. Host, Vivek is a friend of mine. We met on a professional assignment in Bengaluru and became good friends later. Very few could do what Vivek has done. Leaving a Cushy Job in Bengaluru and moving to Puducherry/ Auroville to chase what he feels is important to him. I remember, back in 2018/ 2019 we vaguely discussed about his plan to start a Food Place. And today he has done it! More Power to You Vivek as you Drive the Grove!
