Zaitoon Restaurant, Vellore — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Zaitoon at Vellore is very good in all aspects - food, service and ambience/atmosphere. Had gone here for a dinner during the Christmas holidays with family. With this visit believe , we have now been to all Zaitoon restaurant outlets in India :)

Food and Price: We had good food - Chicken chouspsey soup, Barbeque chicken, Zaitoon spl chicken, Chicken spl shawarma for soup and starters. For main course for breads we had Butter roti , Butter naan, Butter chicken, Kozhi Dhajaj, Wheat parotta. The chicken choupsey soup was good for kids - not so spicy. The barbeque chicken was good and the zaitoon special chicken was juicy and tender and boneless. The spl chicken shawarma was small but was fully loaded with chicken and again kids enjoyed it. The Kozhi Dhajaj rice was as good as usual with good flavour and taste. The price was as usual normal as in any Zaitoon restaurant.

Location, Ambience and Service: The restaurant is at the first floor of a small mall near to VIT college. The mall also hosts the Inox theatre and other food outlets like the Pizza hut. Parking seems to be paid parking even for the outside area but heard that it's reimbursed as part of the purchase in the food outlets. The ambience inside the restaurant was very good - lighting wise, space wise, seating wise etc,. The service was very prompt and good and friendly. Right from ordering to bill, everything was taken care without any blemishes. The food was served hot and fresh.They seem to be very organised and collected. Have to really appreciate the management...

The food delivered to us was really bad. We ordered Afghani Dajaj which was not even half cooked. We informed the management the same but they have just taken away the entire dish without a replacement for half price billed for us seems extremely commercial. When asked about the same, the manager asked if we have tried the same dish in any of their other branches. When I told if he had eaten the same dish in any other restaurant, he kept quiet and agreed that the dish was not totally cooked.

Then our biryani was delivered at our table which basically sucked out our interest in biryani in Afghani restaurants in Tamilnadu. The dish tasted more like a tomato rice with ginger flavour extensively used. The heavy is entirely like masala brinjal taste and the restaurant doesn't even know how to prepare raitha for Indian taste.

We have also seen a cooking person eat something half price and put the remaining in the cooking pan through the glass. Don't know whose dish was that. Not even sure it's ours or someone else's 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻.

When we entered, we thought to order pistachio kunafa towards the end. But with the treatment, good taste and experience we were going through, we just hated to order anything else there

It was a good expectation looking at the reviews and ratings but total exploitation of money.

Overall the worst experience of our entire Tamilnadu trip.

Wouldn't trust any hotel in Tamilnadu looking at reviews and ratings next time.

This particular restaurant is just a hype and waste of hard...
