A Mixed Experience at Antera Courtyard, Hyderabad
As visitors from Denmark, my friends and I were excited to try Hyderabad's famous cuisine, and Antera came highly recommended. While the restaurant boasts a truly stunning ambiance and delicious food, a few significant issues marred our overall experience. The ambiance inside Antera is exceptional. The decor is beautifully designed, creating a wonderful atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Our table was perfect, and the entire dining area radiated good vibes. Even the washrooms were clean and well-maintained, though I'd suggest they invest in better quality paper towels; the current ones require using several to dry your hands effectively. However, our experience began on a sour note due to the chaotic entry. The driveway was completely jammed with parked cars, leaving virtually no space for pedestrians to walk to the main gate. It was an uncomfortable and frustrating start to our evening. Our server, Tapan, was generally polite, but there was a major mix-up with our order. They completely forgot to serve half of our main course. When we reminded them, they only brought one part and claimed I had said I would decide on the biryani later. This was puzzling, especially since they had already brought out the raita and salan (typically served with biryani) even before the first main course arrived. It felt like a convenient excuse. Despite the ordering hiccup, the food itself was tasty. My absolute favorite was the Andhra Special Mutton Biryani. While I had asked for no spice, I quickly realized that "no spice" in Hyderabad still means "extremely spicy" to my Danish palate! This isn't a criticism of the restaurant, but a personal realization about the local spice levels – a lesson learned the hard way the next day! Surprisingly, even the buttermilk was spicy, which was totally unexpected. A fun discovery on the menu was Gulabnut, a dessert I'd loved at The Bombay Canteen in Mumbai but was sadly discontinued. While I was thrilled to see it, Antera's version, unfortunately, didn't live up to my nostalgic expectations. The staff, apart from the main course mix-up, was helpful. However, our departure was just as disappointing as our arrival. The waiting area outside for cabs was incredibly chaotic and swarming with millions of mosquitoes. By the time our cab arrived, we were covered in bites, which truly put a damper on the entire experience. Antera has created a truly beautiful space inside, and the food has great potential. However, I strongly suggest they address the parking situation and the outdoor waiting area. Improving these aspects would significantly enhance the overall customer experience and ensure guests leave with a much more positive...

Nestled in a beautifully designed space, this restaurant is a true delight when it comes to ambience. The interiors are thoughtfully crafted, blending modern aesthetics with a touch of nature. The incorporation of lush greenery adds a refreshing vibe, making the space feel open, airy, and inviting. The spacious layout ensures a comfortable dining experience, whether you're there for a casual meal or a special gathering.
Food Experience Starting off, the Murgh Malai Kebab and Coriander Chicken were a treat—tender, well-marinated, and packed with flavor. Moving to the mains, while the boneless chicken dish was good, it was the Military Mutton Pulao that truly stood out. Rich in aroma and taste, it was the highlight of the meal, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavors.
However, the meal took a disappointing turn when it came to desserts. The Apricot Trifle Pudding, Antera Tres Leches, Caramel Junnu, and Fried Ice Cream were all underwhelming. None of them lived up to expectations, and unfortunately, they ended up overshadowing an otherwise enjoyable lunch. It’s safe to say that dessert lovers should look elsewhere. Service & Staff The service staff deserves full marks for their politeness and promptness. They were attentive, ensuring that diners felt welcomed and taken care of. However, the floor managers seemed preoccupied and indifferent. A simple request for extra raita went unanswered by a manager who disappeared and never returned. Thankfully, a proactive waiter stepped in and delivered the request immediately, proving that the real backbone of the service team lies in its waitstaff.
Overall Ratings Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) – A beautifully designed, spacious restaurant with refreshing greenery. Food: ⭐⭐½ (2.5/5) – Great starters, a standout pulao, but disappointing desserts. Service (excluding managers): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) – Warm and attentive staff, but floor managers need improvement.
