Bhavani Mess — Restaurant in Telangana

We visited this place as suggested by local autowaala for a good vegetarian meal. Place looked as typical bhojan-shala, tables/seating reasonably spacious. Being peak lunch hour we waited 10 min. to find a vacant table. Rs100 for a special meal. Special is seating in a air conditioned room. If not a special meal, just sit in a non-ac area and have all the rest same as special. Our vegetarian full special meal - the square shaped steel plate served with starter veg-pulau rice with curd chutney and paayasam, tomato pappu, beetroot curry, cabbage fry, salt. And then ongoing service continued with serving rice, additional curries, sambar, rasam, chips, perugu ending finally with juice serving. They actually served badam milk but they are calling it juice.

Serving staff- 3*, appears casual but serves with good attitude.

Food- 4**, good vegetarian meal.

Ambiance- 3*

If they welcome suggestions, I suggest the cooking and processing area to give a good washup, maintain clean and clear. And, some interior easthetic uplift.

I walked out with very full and tight tummy and definitely recommend for a good casual...

Today I went for lunch at this so called big famous Bhavani Mess. Guess what people waiting next to people who are already gulping lunch to take seat. Very very less seating as if food served was free. No control over staff to give service. The lady serving rice was laughing and saying " Annam Aipoyindi". And after waiting 30 minutes with lot of patience finally got a seat. And to our surprise nobody cared to take my token and finally had to get up and return token to get refund. Worst experience ever for going all the way leaving air conditioned room for lunch in this scorching sun in Khammam. Decent food and place... more suitable to have a regular meal. Ordered a meal for 13 people. The staff is fast and good. The lunch with a large variety of curries and pickles. The best part is sweet and an ice cream was part of the meal which is generally not available at other hotels. The food is tasty and good. The place is good but not like a posh restaurant.
