Read moreHyderabad has an amazing set of places for clubbing and night life but sadly they are not open after 12 pm
So when I heard of this new place Sip of Sky that is open all day I was super excited
The place since it is at the airport it is a bit of a hassle to go but why crib if you are a party person
The place is amazing in terms of ambiance and setup
Even the open dance floor and dj is fantastic
But that's where the good part ends
I went to this place three times so far and had a different experience all three times
The first time we went it was great. I loved the place. They charged us 1000/- as cover and gave two drinks. That is absolutely ok.
The second time we went the experience was not that pleasing. The next week I went with a few friends and this time they say the cover is 2000 rupees for the same 2 drinks they offered last time. When I said last week it was 1000, the guy at the counter replied it has been changed to 2000. But I know it wasn't true because few of my friends we t one day prior at the same time we went and they paid only 1000.
The third time I went there they charged the same 1000 rupees this time again. There's one open seating section which was blocked by bouncers. The bouncer said all tables are reserved and he cannot let us in there. But then just a few minutes later he let someone in who did not have a reservation after that guy put a 500 rupees note in his pocket. I was there at that place till early hrs 6 am and saw quite a few tables that were never occupied though the guy said they all were reserved. Strange
Another big issue are the bouncers there. They openly ask for money to all the guests when they are leaving. And they don't get pleased with a 100 rupees bill they expect you to give them 200 each minimum to all the bouncers standing there. My friend ended up giving 1000 rupees since tere were 5 bouncers standing at the entrance.
Though I loved the place but things like these spoil the experience and the management needs to fix it. They need to realise that public is not loyal to such places that has these problems and make sure they give the guests a better...
Read moreI'm a commoner at the airport and have visited here 2-3 times. Right off the bat, the ambiance is pretty good. The open area is especially nice if the weather is good. There's love march screening if you're a sports buff, plus they have live musical performances often.
Coming to the food, being a vegetarian, I feel the menu has a fair amount of dishes. Over my visits, I've tried their White Sauce Pasta, Tandoori Broccoli, Cottage Cheeze Poppers and Taste of Hyderabad. Pasta can surely be improved, (or maybe I had higher expectations), Cottage cheese poppers were also average. Tandoori Broccoli was good, but I've had better. Lastly, the taste of Hyderabad - a platter with Bagara Bhindi, Khatti Dal, Paneer 65, Rice and Roti - surely needs some work. The flavours were off for me.
Talking about drinks, I'm a teetotaler so I only had Ginger Ale. The service also can be improved as they take a considerable amount of time to get your order.
So if you're coming here to eat and drink, make sure you have ample time. I've seen mostly folks come in, grab a couple of beers with some quick bites and leave.
Overall, it's a decent place but the food can surely...
