This is the most recent review for an Event (March 13, 2025) So, we did a Holi party for our Micron team with a few folks visiting from our US team. The Holi celebration was a blast with special mention to the Dhol guys arranged by them. The snacks were also good though it were simple items (Samosas, Gujhiyas, Dahi Wada and Butter Milk). However, as soon as it came to the Lunch, the service quality and the taste took a nosedive as usual. Though they were told there will be close to 100 folks attending, there arrangement for the Lunch was pathetic, as though they were doing it for free. There was only one counter with one serving bowl for each item which shows their lack of care when doing prepaid events. There were more than 20 folks waiting at a time and the serving bowls were empty, the water was not replenished after the first stock, the taste of the gravy was so pathetic, I didn't really see anyone eating it after the first bite. The Chicken biryani was just OK, too spicy for my taste. They had to be nudged to replenish the items, and by that time, many folks started eating the side items like curd rice. I realized they do it knowingly to bring down their costs in case of a pre-set menu (so people stuff on the side items) as it has happened earlier as well. I am making it a point to actively oppose if my team is planning an even there in the future.
This is a recent review for a la carte (Oct 2022). Overpriced Food, loud ambience, stale curries. If you are going their for ambience (because the food is just OK), please, please, please don't, at least the ambience used to be good earlier, but post COVID it has become a Fish Market I had a very bad experience at their buffet long back and had not visited them in years, recently a friend cajoled and convinced me to try their a la carte saying it is good. Alas! it was a big let down. The ambience was like we were eating on a damn roadside restaurant with so much ruckus. The services was fast, which we understood why when we tasted the mutton gravies, both the curries were re-heated and chewy. Laal maas was so damn spicy where you can taste raw red chilly. 450 for a chicken starter is too much, when the taste is like any other restaurant. The Rava fried Kingfish tasted like bhajiya from a roadside stall. Only thing good in taste was fish and chips (which ought to be when you are charging 500 for 3 pieces of fish). On top of this they levied 300 bucks Service Charge and conveniently wrote "opt" for optional, next to it (which I saw later). Unethical, to say the least. A bill of INR 5700 for 4 people and what a waste.
The following is an older review for Buffet (June 2019). BAD FOOD! BAD FOOD! BAD FOOD! Mediocre Place, waste of money I used to look at the place almost everyday on my way to office and wanted to visit some day as the interiors looked really nice... when I got the chance, I understood that's all there is to it. Recently been there on a team lunch (buffet). The food was mediocre at best. The welcome drink was pathetic, it was watered down coke or something - could have been a duplicate brand. The chicken and cheese balls were the only dishes I found eatable. Most of the dishes were unnecessary laden with spices. The prawns were too spicy or bland (garlic-butter).Fish fry was dry, and too spicy... barely had a piece. Disappointed by the non-veg, we tried veggies but the same story there as well. Paneer was buried beneath tasteless masala. Finally, since we were hungry, we thought to try out the desserts. Alas! The Gulab-jamun was so spongy that we could not cut it with a spoon, the mousse and pastry tasted stale. Don't even get me started on the pudding. Service was good, the waiting staff was trying to make up for the farce of a food there, but no use in the end. When we told the chef that the food was not good, he shamelessly said that & "You are here just for the food, not for the experience"... and when we asked "Aren't we paying for it?"... he...

It’s really saddening to see a place, which I personally adored at one point of time for their food and ambiance, is slowly degrading.
And that's what I felt about The Fisherman's Wharf.
I had been to their Panaji outlet at Goa almost about 11-12 years back, and absolutely loved the food, the vibe and the ambiance. So when they opened their branch in Hyderabad, I visited it 3-4 times in quick succession, and the love story continued.
Fast forward to January 2025 (yes, this experience is a bit old), and we visited the place after a looong gap. My mom was in Hyderabad for surgery, and after recovering, I took her to some of the best restaurants in Hyderabad; this was supposed to be her last restaurant meal for this visit, and I had chosen The Fisherman's Wharf primarily for the ambiance and food. I wanted my mom's last meal for this visit to be memorable.
We went there on 26th January, Sunday for lunch. Being a Sunday and a holiday, I expected there would be rush and reached early.
We were seated at an indoor place, and ordered the following--
Sichuan Chilli Fish-- This was the only dish that stood out. It was crispy, with.perfec blend of spices.
Fish and Chips-- Disappointing. The portion size was really great (3 big pieces of battered fried fish), but the fish was tasteless and rubbery. The chips were soggy and not crispy.
Pan Grilled Chicken: Tasted weird. I mean, the chicken was basically tasteless. We had to put generous amount of pepper sauce (served with the dish) to make it palatable.
Blueberry Cheesecake: Not bad, but very very mediocre.
We ordered a couple of mocktails along with the food. For mom, ordered a Virgin Mojito and she commented that our local restaurant makes it better.
Overall, not a very satisfactory meal.
The bill for all these was close to about 2800/-.
While coming out, I saw two groups of customers arguing with a restaurant personnel (who looked like a manager, not sure) about the bad taste of food in their buffet. We initially considered having the buffet but later changed our mind, and that moment we thanked our luck...
