Visit to Poptate’s Rmall outlet on 28th Oct 2018, Sunday afternoon - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I was so fond of Poptates RMall outlet due to its ambience , friendly service , decent food and good deals on Alcohol but our visit on 28th Oct 2018 has disappointed so much that I am advising as not to visit this outlet and has completely changed its image for me .

We had ordered Kid platter, breaded squids , 3 different sizzlers and Heineken beer 2+ 1 offer .

Kids platter was passé and was not upto the mark but we did not want to ruin our mood so we thought maybe one of the bad day for the person making pasta for the platter as the pasta sauce was watery and cuddled .

Breaded squid were brought to our table with mint cutney which we returned and asked them to serve the usual tartare sauce which was obliged by the team . Who will serve breaded squid with mint chutney ????

Cherry on top of the cake , our 3 sizzlers arrived after 30 mins .Mind you , sizzler plates were very hot and rice was so cold that it was just out of the walk-in refrigerator , moulded and served to us . The cheese on stuffed capsicum ( one of the accompaniment ) was just garnished. So the Chef’s had not bothered or forgotten to even gratinate it. So you can imagine the intensity of the cold food served to us . Well done Kitchen team .

Since we returned the unconsumable sizzlers back , the restaurant manager offered us a small portion of French fries . My daughter who was playing with the basket (which they usually serve French fries ) had all our fingers greased and I asked her as wheather she touched underneath table etc . I was shocked when she told me - Mama , I touched the base of the basket . I wiped the basket base with a tissue and it was fully covered with black grease , I do not think that the French fries basket must have be washed for a couple of months which was brought to the notice of our server immediately .

Looking at this incident , I doubt any cleanliness process would be followed inside the kitchen as well .

Surely we like our alcohol but please do not fool and serve us unconsummable food . I felt the manager was least interested to hear any of the guest complaints as another table behind us returned their food .

It was a Sunday afternoon and many a times we had waiting for 30- 40 mins for a table . However , yesterday we had many tables unoccupied . We do not want complimentary fries or discount on the food but serve us and return value for the money that we spend .

Take required action and upgrade your standards before it is too late and you run out...

PopTates, the unrestaurant is an urban restaurant, where they serve varieties of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cocktails, mocktails, pizzas, pasta, sizzlers, bowls and curries, etc. They have a very modern and youthful theme around the outlet, for instance, as soon as you enter the outlet you see every wall filled with modern art wall posters over a brick wall. The staff is friendly, the service is on time and perfect. Even the outlet keeps the hygiene on point. . . . From the mocktails we ordered a Summer 69 Cooler, a Virgin Sangria and a Strawberry Orange Ginger Fizz. all the drinks were well complimented with the food we ordered. Every drink had its unique touch of taste to it. Summer 69 Cooler had small dice whereas the Virgin Sangria had small apple dice in it. The Strawberry Orange Ginger Fizz was very much refreshing, the sudden flavor of ginger felt very nice in it. . . . Ordered Moroccon Chicken and Afrikano Fish first and both were awesome. Both the dishes had a very subtle yet unique flavor. Moroccon Chicken was grilled chicken boneless slices in a garlic herb flavoring and Afrikano Fish was a PopTates in house special dish which was prawns fried and stirred in a spicy and tangy red sauce. Both the chicken and prawns were cooked perfectly and were soft and tender. The taste of both of them were phenomenal and unique. The spicy flavor in the Afrikano Fish and the peppery taste in the Moroccon Chicken was very much highlighting. . . . Coming at the main course we ordered, a Meat Load Pizza, a Fajita Chicken Bowl and a Mexi Grilled Chicken Sizzler. Meat Load pizza was fresh dough pizza with red sauce topped with roast chicken, minced chicken, sausages, onion and cheese. The Fajita Chicken Bowl consisted of cilantro rice topped with grilled chicken breasts and vegetables. Mexi grilled Chicken Sizzler was surely one of the best sizzlers ever tried. It had two chicken roulade, sauteed vegetables, corn n’ cheese, rice and french fries. Every dish tasted delightful. The balance of spices was perfect. Chicken was cooked to perfection, was juicy and succulent. Sauces served with Mexi Grilled Chicken Sizzler and Fajita Chicken Bowl were also tasty and were fresh to taste. . . . Overall PopTates is a great location to chill and hang around, eating food with a couple drinks with friends as well as family. Service is adequately fast, staff is friendly and ambiance is great.
