I was awe struck by knowing the mission of this restaurant chain and the message which founders want to give out i.e. women empowerment. An idea with proper planning and timely execution will make everything possible. Purnabrahma is all about passion and growth. They are not just providing authentic maharashtrian cuisine to its customers but also an exceptional service and cultural ambiance. The idea of giving franchises to women is great and I was happy to know that their strength includes 50% of women employees. I hope this percentage will increase in the coming time. People connect over the love for delectable food. Moreover, if you are those who have had a great experience to have dined at a such lovely restaurants, why not share it with the foodies out there. The manager was humble enough to give us an introduction about the working of the place. The menu is purely maharashtrian cuisine and vegeterian. Trust me you will fall in love with the authentic dishes. Damn the menu is extensive, includes varieties of Starters, Bhaji, Preparations without onion and garlic, types of dal, rice, fasting items, beverages, etc. And the best part of the menu was Balgopal- curated for kids with smaller portions on cute plates. Your family is going to love this place. The quality is of top notch. Below is what I tried with my recommendations: 1) Mangoo Piyush (Highly Recommended): A perfect blend of mangoes and milk. A must try. 2) Sol Kadhi (Recommended): Popular in Konkan and Goan regions, made of coconut milk and kokum. This is a sure shot try. But it was not served cold so please request them for the chilled one. 3) Pudachi Wadi (Highly Recommended): I instantly fell in love with this preparation, the stuffing made from fresh coriander leaves, besan, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and I guess sesame seeds. It was medium spicy just the way I like it. The stuffing is filled in pockets hence the name ‘Pudachi’. A must try. 4) Kothimbir Wadi (Highly Recommended): This is my favourite when I visit any maharashtrian cuisine restaurant. It is a delicious crisp snack made from besan, coriander leaves and spices. The crispness was just perfect and was served with the perfect mild mint chatni. A definite try. 5) Puri, Bhaaji and Aamras: I felt the potato bhaaji could have been more better, it was more mushy which didn’t go well. However puri and aamras were perfect. 6) Masale bhaat (Highly Recommended): Spicy and aromatic one pot traditional rice recipe with veggies. It was served with 2 pieces vade and kadhi. The taste of the kadhi was very subtle. 7) Motichoor Ice Cream (Highly Recommended): This is a must try dessert. I had it for the first time and is the perfect end of a happy meal. Thanks to all the management for creating a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place. Happy Eating :)

There is an old shloka (chant) recited before the meal. Vadani kaval gheta naam ghya shri-hariche Sahaj havan hote naam gheta phukache Jivan kari jivitva anna he purn-brahma Udar-bharan nohe janije yadnya-karma It means While having food, take the name of God, this simply leads to completion of fire ritual towards God. Food sustains the life hence it is Purna Brahma. In short respect food and just don’t eat for sake of filling your bellies. That was to much gyaan right😬. We will move towards actual review now, Thursday family meals are generally pure veg and this place was recommended by a dear friend. I went there along with my family and trust me it went all well, start was fab and end was simply superb. We ordered Kothimbir Vadi and Mattar Kachori, these were one of the finest I ever had, crisp on outside and full of flavours from inside. For mains we had Special Purankot Thali and Aamras Puri, well everything was right from Vada from thali to Puri accompanying Aamras were superb, Puran Poli literally melts in your mouth. Must try indeed. In drinks we had Mango Piyush which was thick and good in taste, I loved their Sol Kadhi and it is at par to sol kadhi that my mother makes. I wish I could have had one more. We ended our meal with Ukdiche Modak, soft and juicy from inside, possibly one of the besg modaks I have ever had. You will need to order it in advance since it takes time for preparation. Ambience: It is mix of baithak (seating) and fine table dining, was surprised to see people eagerly waiting to occupy baithak. The old charm is catching up with people of Thane. It also has couple of marathi books and Puneri Tilak Topi which you can use as prop to click photos. Service: Servers are soft spoken and are very good with recommendations, service was not impacted even though they were short of staff today. Parking: Four wheeler is little difficult, however not impossible Value for Money: Pretty reasonable for the quality of food they offer, IMO cheapest in that area. My Take: If you want to have traditional Maharashtrian cuisine head to this place without shadow of a doubt.
