This is the second time Iām reviewing Happy Cup CafĆ©, and honestly, Iāve been here multiple times. While some of the food is truly amazing and Iāve recommended this place to many friendsāwhether colleagues or my husband, whoās also a foodieāunfortunately, the overall experience has been going downhill, especially when it comes to customer service.
I used to love bringing people here because earlier, there was a staff member (a young man) who truly understood hospitality. He was warm, friendly, and knew how to make customers feel welcome. You walked in, and heād instantly lift your mood. But lately, the service has been taken over by someone who clearly isnāt trained or simply lacks the attitude for customer-facing roles.
During our last visit, we ordered a hazelnut croissant, and when I asked for it, the new girl looked completely clueless. She couldnāt guide us properlyāsame issue I had brought up earlier. At the time, the owner had explained she was new and still learning, which I understood. But this time, it went from inexperience to flat-out disrespect.
I had gone with a friend and we were speaking in English, and perhaps she assumed we didnāt understand Marathi. I asked her again just to confirm if the pizza available was thin crust, and she went to the kitchen and started mocking us in Marathiāsaying things like " Ekda sangitla kalat nahi ka...kiti vela vicharte.....ekda bolaichna....(and what not)ā It was incredibly unprofessional, and honestly, humiliating to hear as a customer.
Whatās worse is that the owner was present that day, and while she is a genuinely sweet person and has always been respectful, I couldnāt bring myself to raise the issue then because the experience had already left a bad taste. We quietly left, but it was truly disappointing.
The food still has potentialābut customer experience matters just as much, if not more. I hope the team takes this seriously, because one rude staff member can ruin the effort everyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Happyy Cup is the sort of place that you visit once and it becomes your fav place to hangout take somebody on a date with. This small yet spacious cafe in Manpada Thane has a place in our hearts for their savoury and sweet croissants!
Itās a European themed cafe with both indoors and outdoor seating. Although this summer heat would recommend you to sit inside only. The inside is very pretty as well, a small bookshelf in one corner a sticky note wall on the opposite, a pretty chandelier in the centre and an open (sort of) kitchen/counter at the other end.
The service is fast as well! The staff also helped us to choose what to order and what is their best, the food was as expected super delicious. Hereās what we had-
Watermelon Mocktail What better way to escape the summer heat than a good glass of sweet and ever so slightly tangy watermelon juice? It was just perfect.
Pizza The pizza that we had was super delicious. It was a medium sized pizza with a thick base, a scrumptious sauce, a thin layer of cheese and topped with good amount of paneer and veggies! It was super filling.
Croissants So we had one savoury Croissant which was the highlight of the day. A small croissant cut in half along the z axis and a layer of delicious sauces, lettuce and veggies. Loved it! We also had a sweet chocolate based croissant to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in as it was new and wanted to try. Very costly and for the cost, quantity is pretty less/small. We ordered mango milkshake with ice cream & whipped cream, blueberry shake with vanilla ice cream and blueberry cheese cake. Cheese cake for ā¹280 was too small. Then came the milkshakes. First felt the qty was good as compared to cheese cake, but the glass though tall, was too narrow at the bottom. This definitely was a dampener after having our lunch at -Family Tree, Panchpakhadi. Taste I would not call it very good, but it was not bad. The owner has to either rework the price or qty as he would not find any frequent takers but just one time visitor. No idea about their non-veg stuff as we are vegetarians. Ambience - place is too small but surely cosy for the daters and love birds - 4 to 6 customers at one time makes it crowded. Lastly I would end with, maybe one should try their snacks rather than the milkshakes, going by the review. But frankly and seriously, price is way too high for...
