My recent visit to Dindigul Thalappakatti Biriyani left a very sour taste, and it wasn't because of the food. I ordered a Thalappakatti Chicken Biriyani, which was decent. However, the experience quickly turned frustrating when it came time to pay.
I was given a water bottle to drink during my meal, which I naturally assumed was complimentary, as is the standard practice in almost every restaurant, especially when you're dining in and ordering food. To my surprise and utter dismay, the bill included a separate charge for this water bottle.
When I questioned this, the staff's response was nothing short of dismissive – they simply smiled. This wasn't a smile of apology or understanding, but one that felt condescending and utterly unconcerned with my legitimate query.
It's astonishing that a restaurant prioritizes charging for a fundamental necessity like drinking water over basic customer satisfaction. Water is a human right, and in a dining establishment, it should be a given, not an additional revenue stream. This clearly indicates a business that is money-minded to an extreme, with little regard for the customer's experience or comfort.
This practice is unacceptable and leaves customers feeling nickel-and-dimed. It's a blatant disregard for hospitality. I left feeling completely dissatisfied, and I will certainly think twice before visiting again. Customer satisfaction should always come before such...

Read moreTruly exceptional non-vegetarian food. While it might not be the most budget-friendly option, the quality of the ingredients and the explosion of flavors in every dish absolutely justifies the price tag. Be prepared for an a la carte menu – they don't offer buffets here, which for me is a plus. It allows them to focus on perfecting individual dishes.
I recently tried their briyani and the fish tikka, and both were phenomenal. The briyani was cooked to perfection, with the meat melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor. The fish tikka had a beautiful balance of spices, creating a complex and satisfying taste profile. The portion sizes are decent, and considering the high quality, you won't leave feeling hungry.
Overall, this is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or when you're looking to indulge in some truly top-notch non-vegetarian cuisine. Just be prepared to spend a bit more for this unforgettable...
