Restaurant Review: Big Grill, Lucknow – A Barbeque Misstep
Lucknow, a city celebrated for its rich culinary heritage, offers countless dining options. When I heard about Big Grill, a relatively new entrant to the barbeque scene, my expectations were naturally high. Unfortunately, this experience was far from satisfying, leaving me questioning both the flavors and presentation of their offerings.
Ambience & Service To start on a positive note, the ambience of Big Grill is reasonably appealing. The seating is spacious, and the interiors are designed to reflect a casual dining experience. The staff was courteous and attentive, which momentarily raised my hopes for the meal ahead.
The Food The true test of any barbeque restaurant is its food, and here is where Big Grill faltered significantly. • Flavors: The barbeque dishes lacked a distinct identity. The marinades felt generic and poorly executed, resulting in a bland, almost unseasoned taste. For instance, the grilled chicken kebabs were overcooked and chewy, with no hint of smokiness or spice that one would expect. The vegetarian options were equally disappointing, with mushy textures and no depth of flavor. • Presentation: While I don’t expect Michelin-level plating at a barbeque spot, there’s still an expectation of appealing presentation. Unfortunately, dishes at Big Grill were sloppily served, with skewers arriving in a disorganized manner. The accompanying chutneys and dips did little to enhance the visual appeal or flavor profile. • Buffet Options: Big Grill offers a buffet-style spread that aims to cater to diverse palates, but quantity seemed to take precedence over quality. The main courses lacked cohesiveness, and the dessert section, though decent, felt like an afterthought.
Final Thoughts Big Grill has potential, but it is overshadowed by its lackluster execution. In a city where food is an art form, a barbeque restaurant needs to deliver on both taste and presentation to stand out. Unfortunately, Big Grill fails to make the cut on both counts. While the service and ambience are redeeming factors, they aren’t enough to justify a revisit.
If you’re in Lucknow and craving barbeque, my recommendation would be to explore alternative options that truly honor the city’s...

A special mention to Mr. Suresh, Mr. Surya, Mr. Takraj and Mr. Rajesh. These are the people who take hospitality to another level. Thank you for being so prompt and supportive. 10/10 service! Hats off to the entire team! Definitely recommend!
In the longest time I have been so so satisfied with a restaurant. Like 11 / 10 types.
If you want to have barbeque buffet forget BBN, and the others "The Big Grill" is the go to place for you.
It's a huge space on 2nd floor of Phoenix Pallasio Mall, there was live music which was absolutely mesmerizing, the food was "delicious". My mother is a big food critique yet even she couldn't point a single error in even one item.
We had Cajun potatoes, corn, kebab, papdhi chaat, gol gappe, pizza, momos, paneer and chaap in the starters. Loved how they included a bit of every cuisine. It was different from other barbeque I have visited. The main course and desert were equally good. This time their menu had different items like chole and kashmiri dum aloo, so definitely worth returning and trying new menu.
Edit 1: A special acknowledgment to the outstanding staff, particularly Mr. Takraj, Mr. Rajesh, and Mr. Anil. Their attentive care and thoughtful gestures ensured our enjoyment throughout. They made us feel extremely valued!
The starters had a huge variety. Everything was delicious. The main course had Paneer, Sarso ka saag, kadhi, dal makhani (delicious!!), Aloo Gobhi Adarki, Pasta, Hakka noodles, Biryani veg in mains they gave us absolutely straight from the tandoor garlic naan and Missi roti which was alsooo perfect.
Dessert we had moong dal halwa, cakes, donuts, gulab jamun, kulfi, pudding and others I was too full to try everything but no dish disappointed us.
The service was quick, even though the place was jam packed yet the staff paid attention to us so kudos for the management!! 👍🏼
Will surely visit again, I paid via dineout so saved 10%. You can visit on weekdays to save more.
All in all highly...
