Very few restaurants have excelled in true sense when it comes to the city of love, Dehradun. I have been surveying many cafes and restaurants (personally as well as through various collabs and invitation) since three years but hardly could my favourite one. To be precise, I have finally found out a place that deserves "Frequent visits" of Foodicted fellow. The exquisitely designed interiors, lavish seating arrangement, artistic approach to life and rooftop cafe with breathtaking view of the Doon valley assures you with a splendid experience, altogether. But you know what, a perfect meal is what we all need to elevate this world-class experience.
I tried my luck on Mutton Keema pizza, Burmese Khao-Suey, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, Chicken Parmigiana, Cheese Corn Jalapeno kebabs and few refreshing drinks but there are few dishes I absolutely loved binging on and would like to draw a detailed sketch on them.
Certain dishes are meant to be versatile. Be it breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or an elaborate dinner buffet, such dishes would equally play a significant role in making your meal a perfect one. Tandoori Mushroom is one such dish that can be treated as a versatile dish that one can savour at any particular time.
Lets get to know the "Auric" style of Tandoori Mushroom a little bit more. The first step is known to all and back in my home, I used to have fun, dissecting the stems of mushroom. Ginger garlic paste, cashew nut paste, English Cheddar cheese and fresh cream are mixed in a container as the marinade for mushrooms. Chilli sauce, oil and "Swaad-anusaar" salt must be mixed well with the marinade and contribution of lemon juice should not be forgotten (although we at home, tend to over look it).
The marinated mushrooms are advised to be placed in a Tandoor oven, cook on medium flame until done. The serving platter at Auric looks utterly droolworthy. Every bite unfolds a cheesy affair and melange of flavours.
When cilantro hits your brunch table, remember everything turns out to be purrrfect. Today, I am in a mood to discuss about one of my favourite dishes that strikes the chord of my appetite with its elegance and deliciousness.
If you happen to be an ardent devotee of cilantro and lime, this dish will definitely be the love of your life. The lemon pepper chicken cilantro from the house of Auric is both tender and juicy, the flavours are so overwhelming that every bite contains the factor of "Yummy in my tummy".
I also suggested the concerned authority to add garlic chives as a part of garnishing to make it stand out.
You can never go wrong with this exotic combination of "Grilled fish and lemon butter sauce". Have you ever realized the contribution of lemon butter sauce which makes this dish, droolworthy in true sense. The rich buttery and zesty flavour enhances its taste and leaves you greedy for another bite.
I consider myself "Picky eater" when it comes to fishes. Over the years, Dehradun has been lacking quality restaurants to serve the best fish and guess what, I finally found one that can satiate my cravings. Auric relies on "Sole" fish (as Basa is used in most of the restaurants) exquisitely topped with buttery sauce and a zesty flavour to accompany with.
Every bite of it, is a blessing in disguise and I am definitely coming back to savour it with my friends and family.
Will definitely come back to this restaurant for trying my potluck into...

I'm going to start off by admitting that @auric_restaurant situated at one of my favourite location in Dehradun. The restaurant building is encircled by mountains and trees on one side. You get the best sunset scene from the rooftop, probably because it is setup on 3rd and 4th floor. The rooftop seating can accommodate plenty of people, ideal for entertaining guests with performances and live events. I do think they could use a little bit of work in the rooftop area and make it more aesthetically pleasing. The indoor restaurant area however has excellent aesthetics and interior decoration. The decoration and furnitures throws off a fancy restaurant vibe. Every elite element subtly installed has a unique hint of nature in them. I have seen this kind of fancy, upscale dinning in other places in Dehradun but they don't have this kind of attention to details. I particularly like the paintings that are installed there. Some are by the iconic artist such as "Starry night" by Vincent Van Gogh and "The lady with the veil" by Alexander Roslin. While other are created with their own quirky perspective. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ➖ Food - 4/5. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed by the food there. They have a lot of beverages with continental, chinese, Italian and Indian dishes. There's a separate section in their menu that says global mains that has some of the most globally preferred main-course dishes. Some recommendations: 🍹Pinacolada 🍷blue ocean 🍡Chicken Cilantro Lemon pepper 🍕 mutton keema 🍕 feta and grilled veggies pizza🍜 Spaghetti pasta(veg) 🥘Chicken Parmigiana. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Price- Fancy restaurants like these usually expensive but it's worth it. Read moreAuric is a fine dine restaurant with a beautiful rooftop.. the view is breathtaking from the top. It's located on old mussoorie road. It's spacious and has comfortable seating both inside and on the rooftop. The interiors are beautiful and seating cosy. Most importantly the rooftop is amazing.. if you visit in the evenings, you can watch the beautiful sunset. The staff is very friendly and service prompt. And most importantly the food is good.
I had a bunch of things here which were really good.
I tried the farm house pizza which was thin crust and cheesey. It was really tasty. The quantity of cheese was very generous and it tasted really good.
Chipotle con riso with cottage cheese was the star of the show. It was so good. It seemed to be a bit dry but when we had it, it was just perfect. Must try if you visit here. Plus cottage cheese may make your throat a little dry, but here it was just perfect.
I also tried the Dahi or dry fruit tikki which was served with mint sauce and onions. It tasted really good with the sauce.
Then we had Mac n cheese.. the cheese quantity was quite decent. It was a little bald at first but when we added a little oregano and chilli flakes it turned out to be really good.
For the main course I tried the Nargisi kofta curry with garlic naan. The kofta was super soft and gravy was just perfect. The flavors were so good. Do try this if you visit here.
For the drinks I had the blueberry shake which was amazing. It was thick and well blueberry is love..
Overall I had a lovely experience here. The food, ambience and the staff everything...
