Cakes and Bakes — Restaurant in Uttarakhand

Started with great quality & service with the owner himself present with great gesture but now inexperienced staff is making blunders. Today I ordered Mud cake for my wife's bday. When i went to take delivery, counter person asked other staff to bring from upstairs. Then she was told that cake is already ready and she delivered me one chocolate cake from display. In evening, we came to know it is not mud cake, its just normal chocolate flavoured cake. Cakes & Bakes is approx 10 kms from my home, else i had really visited them again and made them famous. Even when you ask staff about the freshest cake, they will say all are fresh and kept on display 10-15 mins before. Its only you realise your mistake when you buy them. Its just a normal shop now just like many others. I preferred them for years, but last many times i only got disappointments. Will have to look for some other bakery with fresh cakes and experienced staff.

The store is good. However I gave it three star as they did a blunder on my daughter's birthday cake :-

1. By missing to write her name on the cake. While I was ordering the cake I asked the guy who was explaining me the design of the cake that where they would write the name of my daughter. He was very annoyed when I asked him few details of the cake. And he mentioned that the baker is well experienced and they will figure it out while making cake where to write the name. And see what happens they missed it . 2)Moreover I also asked them to add sparkle to the cake which they missed terribly .
2. Finally the person said that he will add birthday number by making it with chocolate. There was no chocolate number present.

So people whenever you visit this store for your kids cake .. please make sure they are noting down your choices and try to avoid talking to that...
