Kalsang Restaurant - A Paradise for Chinese Food Lovers Rating: 5/5

Kalsang Restaurant in Mussoorie is a culinary gem that takes your taste buds on a delightful journey through authentic Chinese flavors. With its vibrant decor, warm ambiance, and mouthwatering dishes, it truly deserves its stellar reputation.

Food: The Chinese food at Kalsang is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, bursting with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. From the perfectly balanced sauces to the expertly cooked stir-fries, every bite is a testament to the skill of the chefs.

The highlight of my meal was the Kung Pao Chicken, which had a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors with a delightful crunch from the roasted peanuts. The rich, bold sauces and the freshness of the ingredients truly stood out, making it one of the best Chinese dishes I’ve had.

Ambiance: The decor of Kalsang is a blend of Tibetan and Chinese influences, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The colorful prayer flags, lanterns, and traditional artwork add to the charm and make the dining experience even more special.

Service: The staff are attentive, polite, and ensure a seamless dining experience. From helping with recommendations to timely service, they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Verdict: Kalsang Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves Chinese food. With its exceptional dishes, cozy ambiance, and top-notch service, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Whether you’re in Mussoorie for a day or a week, make sure to treat yourself to...

I happened to be near Kalsang restaurant and decided to try it out. I should say the quality of food and the portion size was good. I tried the sliced pork in hot garlic sauce with steamed rice, it was good, well cooked, good taste. The atmosphere was ok, could have been cozy but the owner needs to pay more attention to the staff, ambience, music and upkeep of the premises. Since its a small space it is very important that it should be maintained well. The stairs climbing to the 1st floor was dirty, also its good to have the Tibetan pictures, flag etc but must be kept clean, the waiters are not well trained and they made so much noise shifting the forks and spoons that I literally had to tell them to cut it off. Also the continuous Tibetan music which was being played repeatedly gave me a headache but later once more customers came in they switched to English music. I think the owner is insensitive and has taken for granted that the customers are ok however we run this place. They need to rethink and make it more customer friendly, train the staff well, in mannerisms, client handling, knowledgeable about food and service etiquette. Even when it was hot inside the fan was not switched on till the staff was told to do so.Finally this place needs a huge clean up in regards to housekeeping and maybe even...

Kalsang Asian Restaurant in Mussoorie is a delightful culinary experience for any food lover with a penchant for Asian cuisine.🥟 During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their famed devil momos😈, and they truly lived up to their reputation. The flavors were exquisite, with a perfect balance of spices that left a tantalizing kick on the taste buds. The momos were served piping hot, adding to the overall enjoyment of the dish.❤️

However, one aspect that slightly dampened the experience was the slow service. Despite the delectable food, the wait time for our order to arrive was longer than expected. It would have been even more satisfying if the service matched the exceptional quality of the dishes🧡.

Nonetheless, the restaurant's ambiance was charming❤️, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, making the overall dining experience pleasant. The menu offered an array of Asian delights, giving patrons a variety of options to indulge in different flavors.

In conclusion, Kalsang Asian Restaurant's devil momos are an absolute must-try for anyone visiting Mussoorie. While the slow service was a minor drawback, the delicious food and warm ambiance more than made up for it. For an unforgettable taste of Asian cuisine in this beautiful hill station, Kalsang is undoubtedly a worthwhile dining...

After an exhausting but rewarding shopping spree along Mussoorie’s iconic Mall Road, we found ourselves craving something comforting, warm, and satisfying — and Kalsang was just the answer. The two-storey restaurant was buzzing with energy, packed with locals and tourists alike. Despite the crowd, we were lucky to find a table without a wait, and the cozy, welcoming ambiance made it feel like we’d stepped into a little corner of Tibet. The menu at Kalsang is nothing short of a culinary maze — in the best way possible. With mouth-watering options from Tibetan, Thai, and Chinese cuisines, picking just a few items felt like a task. Everything looked too tempting to ignore. Given the pleasantly chilly weather outside, we started with the Tom Yum soup — a steaming bowl of Thai comfort, rich with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and a tangy kick of chili and lime. It was both invigorating and soothing, with just the right amount of heat to warm us from the inside out. Next came the Chicken Devil’s Momos, and they were a revelation. These were not your average momos — large, juicy Tibetan dumplings, smothered in a fiery, flavor-packed Schezwan gravy that delivered on both spice and taste. The texture was perfect, and each bite was loaded with bold, savory goodness.
