Just came for the food - since I was hungry, it was late and they're open till 10.
I ordered the chicken barbeque burger with fries.
the good: • I had a really good experience with the service. while the other 4 waiters ignored me (!I guess since they saw I won't be able to speak Hindi) the one who did serve me was very professional. He is from Almora he told me and is the kind of waiter you'll find in really posh places - who is non existent till the very exact moment you need him! 5/5 for this one waiter • the fries were crispy to the point, exactly as I like 'em. • the BBQ sauce which came with the burger was very tasty.
the bad: • the burger patty was of generic type. stuff minced together into a tasteless, sloppy mass of something. don't know if it even contained chicken or if they had to.get rid of some veg patties before they expire... the bill said what I ordered. maybe someone from the management will be able to identity what it's supposed to be. saying barbeque chicken Burger I expected a piece of barbecued chicken meat....
the ugly: it's 9:30am now and I spent the morning since 4:30 between bed and toilet. at times I'm glad to have an additional bucket here since my body exposes from both sides simultaneously (I.e: explosive watery diarrhea and vomiting). in addition my body is perspirating like crazy, trying to get rid of all the poisons. my self diagnosis is FOOD POISINING. I had that multiple times before, many years ago when I started coming to India. But never this severe. I'm tall and bulky guy, so usually my body copes with it easily and quickly. but not this time.
And I don't accuse a restaurant of this kind of thing lightly. I know of the possible consequence for the place and it's staff. So when in doubt, I'd always blame myself for having touched something I shouldn't have before touching my food with my fingers.
But this time it's very clear (flast time I ate was 12h before. water from sealed bottles only, first thing on entering was washing my hands (check CCTV), ...) and I want others to be able to decide whether they want to expose themselves and/or their loved ones to this risk. imagine a child eating that burger which causes so much trouble to my adult body.
sorry for the very long review, but since all I can do today is waste my time between bed and bathroom this gave me something to do and allowed me to went my...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Nainital, I had the pleasure of dining at Zooby's Kitchen, a charming establishment known for its diverse menu and inviting ambiance. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find an extensive selection of dishes catering to my preferences.
The restaurant offers a variety of cuisines, including Italian, Chinese, Indian, and Asian, ensuring there's something for everyone. I started with the Paneer Makhmali Tikka, which was exceptionally soft and flavorful, marinated to perfection. The Matar Malai Methi stood out with its creamy texture and balanced spices, making it a delightful main course option. To complement the meal, I opted for the Garlic Naan, which was freshly baked and paired well with the curries.
The ambiance of Zooby's Kitchen is both cozy and aesthetically pleasing, with decor that enhances the dining experience. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly.
However, it's worth noting that the pricing is on the higher side. While the quality of food and service justifies the cost to an extent, it might be considered expensive for regular dining. For instance, dishes like the Paneer Makhmali Tikka and Matar Malai Methi are priced at ₹450 and ₹360 respectively, which could be a consideration for budget-conscious diners.
In conclusion, Zooby's Kitchen in Bhimtal offers a delightful culinary experience with a wide range of vegetarian options. The quality of food, coupled with the pleasant ambiance and attentive service, makes it a worthwhile visit for special occasions or when you're in the mood to indulge. Just be prepared for a slightly...
Read morePeople go on vacations to relax and spend time. But unfortunately, for us this was not the case. Every moment spent at Zooby’s Kitchen Bhimtal was an absolute torture. The staff behaved as though they were doing us a favor by relocating us to a different room, when in reality, our assigned room had been given to someone else. This mix-up marred every moment of our supposed vacation. Also, the staff seemed completely unaligned and unprofessional. One staff member initially promised to provide ice to our room but later refused, claiming it was not for guest rooms.Let me clear it was not for hard drinks, if that's the next lie they are about to go on with. This inconsistency raises the question: why have rooms for guests if basic services are denied? It seems the focus is more on taking money rather than providing proper service.
Additionally, we were hounded for the remaining 30% payment even though it was clear that their services were subpar. This aggressive payment collection only highlighted their awareness of their own service deficiencies.
Another troubling observation is the pattern of reviews. Every negative review is followed by 5-6 positive reviews within an hour, which seems highly suspicious. It appears the positive reviews are bought to mislead future guests and manipulate Google ratings.
I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuinely good stay. There are better options out there that provide honest service and value for money. Instead of actually realising the issue they are defending...
