Now this is what I call it a Keralite Thali!! . . Normally I donāt prefer eating sabjis but being a food blogger I had to taste each and everything served on my plate. But frankly speaking, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. . To being with; a huge thali was served with the variety of dishes and I was totally confused as to where do I start from. But before starting I was eager to know the names of all the dishes. The names were damn difficult. Trust me if you ask me any name I would hardly say 2-3 namesš As its rightly said; whatās there in the name š¤·š»āāļø . Each and every sabji had its own taste with different vegetables. Most of the sabjis had coconut š„„ and tadka of curry leaves (I guess itās Keralites special). Few of the dishes that I remember and found unique were: Yoghurt mixed with garlic Keralite Dal Beetroot Chutney Thatās all that I remember š To end my meal there were 3 types of Payasam- a kind of dessert. All 3 tasted damn good but the most I loved was Vermicelli Payasam. . Overall an amazing experience. . Not to forget their staff who were calm, humble and made me feel comfortable.
. . . My last visit was worth a try but being alone I didn't enjoy much and this time thought of visiting with my husband. . . . If you are bored š by having the same type of North Indian cuisine then why not try for some South Indian cuisine. Recently had been to Kerala Cafe, Baner and trust me this restaurant will never disappoint you.
It serves authentic Malabar cuisine and their journey of starting the restaurant is also interesting. (Swipe right to know the story)
Their menu has a minimal selection in each section which makes your selection sorted.
I tried:
Chicken Ghee Roast!! . Boneless chicken marinated in its masala. I truly loved its marination and the masala was super yummm and tasty š Chicken was roasted in ghee and red chili paste.
I would truly recommend this dish. . . . Chicken Kerala Curry!! . Being in South Indian restaurant wanted to try on some authentic curry and ordered this. The curry is slowly cooked in rich coconut milk and it makes more tempting because of the spices itās cooked with. Not to forget the curry leaves all over the gravy that will not allow you to forget that you are having South Indian food šš . . . Lemon Rice!! . Quick and easy rice enhanced with distinct flavors of lemon juice, curry leaves, turmeric, whole chillies, and mustard seeds. . . . . . . #keralacafe #dinnerscenes #southindiancuisine #indianfood #foodphotography #vasaifoodie #livetoeat #justteatit...

My visit to Kerala Cafe last night turned out to be an absolute disaster, shattering all the positive reviews I had heard about this place. I am utterly appalled by the abysmal service and the blatant misrepresentation of the food.
From the moment we walked in, the service was a complete letdown. The staff seemed disinterested and provided the bare minimum attention. It was evident that they had no regard for customer satisfaction.
To make matters worse, the quantity of the dishes was shockingly meager. Not only did they fail to live up to the promised portions, but the actual food items were a far cry from what was described on the menu. We ordered the supposedly authentic Kerala chicken fry, only to receive a pathetic excuse for itāa semi-dry masala chicken that bore no resemblance to the deep-fried Kerala-style dish it was supposed to be. The disappointment was overwhelming.
But that wasn't the end of our ordeal. We specifically requested the buff ularthiyathu to be prepared with coconut pieces, as clearly stated in the menu. However, they shamelessly ignored our request, serving a coconut-less dish that resembled a mere sample size. The audacity to charge exorbitant prices for such minuscule and unfulfilling portions is beyond comprehension.
As if that wasn't enough, the incompetence extended to the simplest of tasks. We ordered two fresh lime sodasāone mixed and one salted. To our dismay, we were presented with a sickeningly sweet lime soda and an insipid soda with an unnecessary dose of salt. The absence of lemon in a supposed fresh lime soda is a testament to the careless and negligent attitude prevailing in this establishment. Their solution? A half-hearted attempt to salvage the situation by squeezing a lime into the drink and returning it. It was a feeble attempt to rectify their own glaring mistake.
Adding insult to injury, the waitstaff blatantly disregarded our repeated pleas to refrain from pouring water into unwanted glasses. Despite our explicit instructions, they persisted in wasting water mindlessly, showing a complete lack of respect for our simple request.
My overall experience at Kerala Cafe was an absolute nightmare, leaving me utterly disgusted. The abominable service, deceptive food, and utter disregard for customer satisfaction have ensured that I will never set foot in this establishment again. I strongly advise against subjecting anyone else to this pathetic excuse for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen here on Sunday afternoon for lunch with my family and the place was totally packed. There was waiting outside the restaurant which was indeed a great indication that we decided to dine here. The restaurant has really soothing and calming atmosphere inside and has pretty looking decor. Talking about the f&b , they are undoubtedly the masters of Kerala food. They had completed 5 years as a brand and they had amazing offers running like wear a mundu and get biryani absolutely free , unlimited veg thai offer and what not. To start off we had raw mango and lemon kulki which is water based drink having respective flavors and topped with sabja seeds. Super refreshing on hot afternoon. In appetizers we had spicy prawns roast which was super spicy and had onion gravy preparation. It had that flaming touch to it and prawns used was fresh and had no smell whatsoever, also tried their chicken boneless ghee roast which was pure bliss. It had ghee preparation for the base gravy and had tender chicken pieces inside it. Paneer 65 was the call for something dry appetizer and it was again something we would highly appreciate! Crisp coated soft paneer pieces later tossed with curry leaves with great aroma and fine blended flavors of 65 spice mix. Coming to the main course we opted their signature chicken bamboo biryani which was fab when it comes to presentation and taste wise it was stellar too. Caramelised onion had given the biryani a level up taste and it had generous portions of chicken in it. It was served with raita , pickle and little base gravy which was used to make the biryani.
To sum it up , for the dessert we ordered for fresh tender coconut ice cream which was served in tender coconut itself which looked incredible. It was garnished with roasted dry coconut and frozen raisins. Loved it totally!
If you really want to experience the Kerala food and the vibe then definitely this place is worth visiting. Here every single dish is made with authentic spices and no alterations has been done to the original Kerala recipes at all which is the best...
