Shree Khodiyar Kathiyawadi Dhaba in Vasai, Mumbai, offers an authentic taste of Kathiyawadi cuisine that will make you feel as if you’ve been transported straight to the vibrant food culture of Gujarat. As you step in, the ambiance sets the tone with a rustic, traditional feel reminiscent of a typical rural dhaba, creating an inviting atmosphere that's perfect for family gatherings or casual dinners with friends.
The menu is filled with a variety of classic Kathiyawadi dishes that are both delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great value for money. Some of the must-try items include their sev tameta, bharela ringan, and lasaniya bataka, which are perfectly spiced and served with an array of fresh accompaniments like onions, green chilies, and a variety of pickles. Their bajra rotla (millet bread) served with white butter is a staple here, and it pairs excellently with the curries.
The highlight, though, is the balance of flavors—spicy, tangy, and just the right amount of rustic that Kathiyawadi cuisine is known for. The staff is courteous and attentive, which adds to the overall experience. They are happy to recommend dishes if you’re new to Kathiyawadi cuisine, and the service is prompt even during peak hours.
Overall, Shree Khodiyar Kathiyawadi Dhaba provides a satisfying dining experience for anyone looking to explore authentic Gujarati flavors in Mumbai. It’s a hidden gem in Vasai for food lovers, especially for those who enjoy Indian regional cuisine. Highly recommended if you’re in the mood for flavorful, hearty food that feels homemade yet authentic to...
Read moreI visited your resturant overall good experience good food good service by waiter. Crowded place sometime due to high rush waiter didn't attend you well. Lot of complementary dishes but such as salad but didn't feel like fresh pre cut again due to heavy rush and less staff no one explain you what are different things are given as complementary on your table. I ordered 1. Umbadiyu I will give 4/5 2. Masala Papd also masala khicha papad 5/5 3.Baigan Bharata 4/5 4.khodiyar special sabji 1/5 too much cheese 5. Roti & Bajarano rotlo 4/5 Masala Kadhi khichdi 3/5 too much spice I don't know why they added spring onion in khichdi but the kadhi they serve with khichdi is too good I liked it 7. Chass 4/5 But I would love to give you some feedback or you can say suggestios. As your resturant has gained so much popularity through social media many customers of each community will visit your restaurant for trying umbadiyu and other dises. But what happens as a customer who does not belong to Gujarat region it becomes very difficult to select food dishes because we are not that much aware of what dishes you are providing & it also become very difficult to read the names of dishes on menu card & to understand what I am exactly ordering. We asked the waiter but as the rush was there he was also trying to attend other customers. So I would suggest make a menu which is more customer friendly easy to understand and as a non-gujrati customer can also understand what we are ordering like you can give a description of dishes on each item. A small suggestion apart from this it was...
Read moreI visited Shree Khodiyar Kathiyawadi Dhaba Vasai on 19th January with my family, by seeing the appealing reels on Instagram. Unfortunately, the experience was a complete letdown.
The visit began with difficulty accessing the restaurant due to a lack of parking and a dug-up road, making the approach inconvenient and unsafe. Once there, we encountered disorganized management, with a chaotic crowd and a staff member haphazardly managing a waiting list. Despite waiting over an hour as instructed, we witnessed others who arrived after us being seated first.
When finally offered a seat, it was in the backyard on an uncomfortable "khatiya" setup, unsuitable for my elderly parents. The area was smoky and dirty, clearly not fit for dining. Despite repeated requests for proper seating, we were met with indifference and had to wait even longer.
The service was unprofessional—dirty plates, delayed orders, and indifferent staff who seemed overwhelmed and inexperienced. The much-promoted "Umbadiya" was utterly tasteless and did not live up to its hype. We left most of the food uneaten, making the entire experience a complete waste of time and money.
Traveling from Andheri, we expected a pleasant dining experience, but instead, we were left with frustration and disappointment. I cannot recommend your restaurant based on this visit and would advise others to consider alternative options which is Jalaram for Kathiyawadi Food Experience near Daman Highway for a genuine and...
