DS DOSA FACTORY, Jhilmil — Restaurant in Vivek Vihar

DS Dosa Factory in Jhilmil Colony is a popular South Indian khaane ki jagah that attracts a lot of foodies, especially those craving crispy dosas, idli, and uttapam. The variety on the menu is laajawaab — from masala dosa to cheese burst dosa and even Chinese fusion options. The chutneys and sambar are usually flavorful, giving you that authentic Dakshin bharatiya swad.

However, my recent experience was a bit nirashajanak. While the place is usually clean, this time the safai vyavastha was not up to the mark — the tables were gande and not cleaned properly. The service was also quite slow; we had to wait for over 30 minutes for our order even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. When the food finally came, the dosa was not as crispy as expected, and the sambar was thanda.

The staff seemed a bit disinterested and inattentive, which took away from the overall experience. For a place that usually maintains a good reputation, this was a letdown.

My first experience dated 27 June 2023, firstly, bad service no one to take order timings was around 9 PM on number of request one person come and take the order after sometime 2 more guys come and ask what's your order we order butter masala dosa which was served after 30 mins with cold sambhar don't know why so and if we compare the price then this should not be expect like what we face.

Secondly, no water glass and spoon on the table this was also served on request and when I asked for normal water then they said we order but it's not delivered, this is my first experience, will never ever visit at this place as there are number of other restaurants which offer much more than what I get, I saw the review and then I decided, so request you to kindly pay attention on these...

Food variety offered here is good. The taste Chinese food was good. South Indian food was fair. We tried three varieties of soup. All were tasty. The service was fairly okay. Washroom was available. The ambience and lightning were also moderate. Similarlybthe prices of various items in the menu were also mid-range. Overall, it would be right to say that the restaurant was fair to go for a short outing for lunch or dinner especially when you are not willing to go to a far off place and spend lot of time at the restaurant. The place can be revisited sometimes though not very keen to go there often. Their party menu seems economical for throwing small birthday, anniversary and kitty parties.
