▫️𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐲 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟑𝟒𝟗 ( deep fried stuffed chingri ) it was crispy and the size of the chingri is pretty impressive. It was delicious and i highly recommend this appetizer.
▫️𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟏𝟖𝟗 ( Bhat, shutki bharta, tok dal, alu bhaja, khosha chorchori, kochur lotir jhal, kucho macher bhuna, kossa murgi, chutney, papad, kalo chaler payesh. ) Everything tasted really nice and i loved it.
▫️𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟏𝟗𝟗 ( Ghee bhat, saak bhaja, tomato bharta, dal, alu posto, chorchori, macher kalia, posto murgi, chutney, papad, kalo chaler payesh. ) I loved it. If you want fish and chicken both in the same thali then this is the one for you.
▫️𝐁𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐡𝐨 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟐𝟖𝟗 It has good pieces of mutton and it was so soft and tasty. Not too spicy which was nice and i really liked it.
▫️𝐁𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟑𝟗𝟗 I've been wanting to try baanspora from a very long time so i finally order and tried it for very first time and omg it was delicious. Well you can't consider this as a proper biryani because it tastes a bit different but it tastes so nice and it's more a spicy side. We order mutton baanspora so it was perfectly cooked mutton pieces were soft and juicy. Overall taste is nice i liked it.
▫️𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐭 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟗𝟗 𝐁𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐭 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟗𝟗 I loved hazarduarir shorbat more. It's basically pora aam er shorbat. But it so flavourful and a bit tangy which i really love. Now if i talk about the lebur shorbat it was not nice at all. It was very salty and it didn't taste good to me. Maybe it was mistake by them but never mind.
▫️𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐢 - 𝐑𝐬 𝟗𝟗 It was delicious. Nothing like a normal misti doi. It not too sweet not to sour. It was perfectly balanced and i love loved it. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the heart of Kolkata, Dhamsha offers a tantalizing escape to the rich flavors and vibrant culture of Bengal. As a fervent admirer of Bengali cuisine, I recently embarked on a culinary expedition to this esteemed establishment, eager to savor its renowned dishes and immerse myself in its authentic ambiance.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately enveloped in an atmosphere that exuded warmth and authenticity. The décor tastefully blended traditional Bengali elements with modern accents, creating an inviting space that beckoned diners to embark on a gastronomic adventure. The attentive staff greeted me with genuine hospitality, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

From classic favorites like Machher Jhol (fish curry) to lesser-known gems like Chingri Malai Curry (prawn coconut curry), every dish promised to be a culinary masterpiece.
My dining journey commenced with an assortment of appetizers, including crisp and flavorful Vegetable Chop and succulent Bhetki Paturi (fish steamed in banana leaf). Each bite was a symphony of flavors, transporting me to the bustling streets of Kolkata.
As the main course arrived, I found myself torn between the tempting options. Ultimately, I opted for the quintessential Bengali dish, Kosha Mangsho (slow-cooked mutton curry), accompanied by fragrant Basmati rice and flaky Luchi (deep-fried bread). The tender meat melted in my mouth, while the rich spices danced on my palate, leaving me utterly satiated and yearning for more.
To complete my culinary sojourn, I indulged in a selection of sweet treats, including the iconic Rasgulla and velvety Mishti Doi (sweet yogurt). Each dessert was a fitting finale to an unforgettable dining experience, leaving me with memories that will linger for years to come.
In conclusion, [Restaurant Name] on Google Maps stands as a beacon of Bengali culinary excellence. Took my parents out for dinner. We had made reservations at 7 through BookMyShow. The place is situated behind Eco Park. If you are coming from Salt Lake, turn left after Vivek Tirtha and then take the scenic route around the lake (you will have to show your booking confirmation to the security guards in front of the replica Eiffel Tower else they won’t allow you to take the route or if it’s an unplanned visit then you can buy a pass for ₹300 which can be redeemed in Cafe Ekante or Dhamsa for the same amount)
The place is very cozy. With a soft breeze blowing from the water side and the rural atmosphere created by the music and crisscross of lights, it really makes you feel like you are in a village of rural Bengal.
We were seated inside the dome (this has AC and limited seats). After glancing though the menu, getting their recommendations and placing the order we soaked in the ambience. Drinks were served fast and we had to drink them up quickly since the utensils are all Kansa (broze and tin alloy) and if you leave your drink in it for long you are left with a bitter aftertaste.
One item of prawn was unavailable because someone had placed a huge order for lunch so they couldn’t provide us that. Rest all were available. We started with the Baanshpora Mangsho which is their signature. It’s dry but tastes superb. A must try. We also ordered the Orgram Thali, two of which is sufficient for three people, with some additional rice. Alongside we had also order the Pora Harir Mangsho, which is gravy based. Both were excellent and rich in flavour. That’s a must try as well.
Unfortunately we were so full that there was no place for dessert (I know how can this be possible you may think but seriously the quantity is too great and the Thali offers more value for money).
Overall had a wonderful time and highly recommended.
P.S: It is recommended to make reservations prior to your visit but you can still walk-in and get a seating. Just remember to redeem the ₹300 entry fee charged...
