πΊπππππ πͺππΓ© π π²ππππππ: So, a few days back, during my trip to Darjeeling, I had the pleasure of being invited to this really cute cafe, adorned with instagram-worthy decors, amazing views, and really tasty food at an affordable rate; that the owner of this place, Suzam, being super helpful, friendly and welcoming was the ultimate cherry on the top! Located just beside the iconic Darjeeling Ropeway and the North Point School, and being surrounded by a lot of reputed schools and colleges of Darjeeling, this place is beaming with youthful crowd and amazing vibes, and with such picturesque views from the rooftop @suzamscafenkitchen is truly a gem amidst all the cafes in Darjeeling. Their homestay option will be open to all travellers as early as next month, and I'm sure you'd love the hospitality and all the amenities provided here, which I was really fortunate enough to experience firsthand!
Coming to the food, we had :- Hot Chocolate - βΉ130 (this was so well prepared and has my π) Hazelnut Latte - βΉ100 (@sohamsphotography didn't even give a sip so go and ask him π) Chicken Burger with fries - βΉ200 (really filling as a snack) Waffles - βΉ130 (really bang for the buck and tastes quite nice) Chicken chowmein - βΉ150 (this was warm, spicy and exactly what I needed on the chilly eve) Brownie fudge - βΉ150 (forgetting the affordable price point for the time being, this was honestly so lip smacking that even after such an assortment of great dishes, I just couldn't control myself from having it all for me, sorry @sohamsphotography) Guava twist - βΉ100 (this mocktail was quite refreshing after a long walk - well that's a tale for some other time π)
I am certain that you may come here as a traveller, but you'll leave @suzamscafenkitchen as a friend, which is coincidentally...
Β Β Β Read moreI had visited Suzam's CafΓ© and kitchen just a few days back along with my partner, and honestly, it has been one of most memorable experience of our Darjeeling trip! The rooftop area was so photogenic, with great views of the Kanchenjunga range and at the same time was so well decorated (with pretty lights that make it appealing even after sunset). With many insta-worthy corners and a wide assortment of delicious dishes (each prepared with passion and goes easy on you pocket too), I think this is one place that must surely be in your bucket list!
With its proximity to all the prominent schools and colleges of Darjeeling (this place is right beside the North Point School and the famous Ropeway) you can surely find a very culturally rich and youthful vibe here, a safe abode to stay free from worries of any sorts, once the homestay option opens up for travellers!
Lastly, I can't emphasize this enough how very welcoming, friendly and helpful the owner of @suzamscafenkitchen and her partner was and trust me you'll feel right at home in no time. I mean it when I say this, she's just the sweetest! She even she gave us a ride back to our hotel as it was quite late by that time and we had such a fun time chatting with her and her partner (who was driving the cab) on the ride back home. You'll come here as a guest but you'll leave Suzam's as a friend. We can't wait to get back here ASAP to witness the majestic view from their rooftop, which we unfortunately missed due to it being just after sunset when we arrived (also, the day we went there was...
Β Β Β Read moreSuzAm's is one of the most homely places one can ever visit. Primarily a cafe, the hosts also run a very cozy bed and breakfast in the same building. We were two female travelers who spent three nights at their BnB and are extremely grateful for the warmth and hospitality we received from Suzannna, Abhishek, and their staff. Not once did we feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any point.
The common area outside the room as well as the insides of the cafe are very gracefully decorated and one can just expect to spend a whole day here. DO TRY the chicken momo at the cafe, which are bite sized pieces of absolute juicy delight! I also fell in love with the hot chocolate with marshmallows, which is such an upgrade from anything in the name of hot chocolate one finds in Darjeeling! The food is so good here that we even gobbled up an entire plate of noodles in no time! And absolutely reasonable too! The cafe comes with an excellent view of the Himalayan range comprising of the Kanchendzonga above, and an equally beautiful view of the tea gardens below.
SuzAm's may seem slightly out of town, but it is only a 15 INR shared taxi ride away from the main Bazar. If you're coming to ride on the famous Darjeeling ropeway, then it's right next door!
I would highly recommend SuzAm's to all travelers, not just for the food and beverages, and most definitelyt the view, but also for the absolutely delightful conversations you can make with...
