Vedic Kitchen — Restaurant in Bali

I'm really excited about the idea of this place -- healthy vegetarian Indian food -- and the venue itself is great, peaceful and overlooking the rice paddies. But the food is just bad.

I've been twice -- once last year and once a few months ago -- and both times I was very disappointed with the food. At best some dishes were average, but others were horrible, barely edible. A common theme was that the spices didn't seem cooked properly. For example, I got garlic naan that was covered with raw garlic; probably would have been great if it was actually cooked. Another time I got a dosa that was full of spinach or kale saturated with bitter, probably uncooked turmeric (?) and I couldn't even eat it.

My suspicion is that the original chef knew what they were doing and created good dishes, but we whoever cooked the food when I went didn't know how to execute the dishes.

I ordered GO-JEK from this restaurant, so this review doesn’t cover service or atmosphere. I ordered a dosa set, poha and samosas.

The dosa’s were to smallest I have ever seen. The two dosas together are still smaller than one regular proper dosa. Apart from that, these were not at all what you would expect from a dosa. The curry that came with it was average. Extremely overpriced for the dose and taste! 2 potato samosas, again overpriced. The poha... what the heck happened to that?? Super dry, and if it tasted like anything at all, it tasted very chemical! I took 2 spoons only and sadly enough fed it to my puppies.

Adalah pengalaman buruk dan membuat perasaan sangat tidak nyaman masuki restoran ini... Saya masuk ke dalam untuk pickup order makanan yg di pesan customer tapi saya di suruh keluar dan pickup dari luar... Masih ada saja perlakuan seperti ini terhadap driver online.. Seakan saya tidak layak masuk ke restoran nya dan seakan saya sebagai pembawa virus atau penyakit.. Sebagai sebuah catatan karena dari pengalaman saya sebagai driver online udah ratusan restoran yg telah saya masuki untuk melayani customer.. Sebagai besar dari resto tersebut begitu welcome.. Dan penuh kesopanan dan sikap bersahabat terhadap driver online sebut saja JAY INDIA BALI.. JIB.. DELY KITCHEN.. DAPUR KITCHEN.. FRONT CAFE.. STED CAFE.. BURGER BROS.. MENSEUR SPOON.. SUSHI WARUNG GARAGE MENGWI.. dan masih terlalu banyak untuk di sebut di sini yang memiliki keramahan dan tata kesopanan yg jempolan.. Dan bahkan banyak resto yg menyediakan tempat atau ruang tunggu yg nyaman dan bahkan di sediakan air minum dan kopi atau snack kepada driver online.. Saya meyakini atas kesadaran mereka sepenuhnya karena driver online adalah aset mereka juga dalam menjalankan bisnis mereka.. Itu sekelumit pengalaman saya di dunia online.. Jadi cukup lah satu bintang saja dlu agar segala sesuatu nya bisa di perbaiki untuk ke depan.. Mengenai resto entah itu suasananya.. Desain atau makanan nya saya tidak memberikan ulasan apapun karena itu bagian dari selera customer.. Intinya adalah.. Jika berjualan online bangunlah komunikasi dan sikap yang baik sama driver... Karena driver online adalah aset berharga untuk sebuah usaha yg berjualan via online.. Untung nya fitur cancel di aplikasi udah ga bisa di pakai udah ga tersedia.. Jika driver masih boleh meng cancel order.. Ketika di suruh keluar .. Saya pasti langsung cancel karena yg memberi saya keuntungan adalah customer dan aplikasi.. Bukan resto nya.. Bisnis yg besar adalah bisnis yg bisa dan mampu menghargai siapapun yg berperan di dalamnya dan nyatanya yg paling utama sebagai sebuah sumber rejeki adalah attitude.. Sikap sopan..
