Warung Genitri is everything that's right about Bali.
Of course, the view is spectacular and the food is delicious. I could eat the eggplant balado every day for the rest of my life. If you like it spicy, which I do, just ask them to make it spicy and they'll add the little Balinese red chilis they use that have a nice fruity flavor and a slow-building heat. You might miss the eggplant balado completely because it's a special so it's not on the menu. I think they should make it all the time.
If you like to drink wine, they have Hatten red and white wines here as well. Hatten is a Balinese winery that makes European-style red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines, from a mix of native Balinese grapes and European varietals. The wines are very, very good and they have their own unique personality.
The best thing about Warung Genitri is the ladies who work here. It's clear from the first moment that these are kind and generous and welcoming women. I felt instantly like I belonged here, which is not usually the case when you travel as much as we do. It's a very special feeling. They can get extremely busy during dinner, so you'll have to be patient with the service, but it will be worth it for the sunset view, the food and wine, and the rare and special feeling of having a home-cooked style meal made by the beautiful people here.
Warung Genitri is a very special place for me. I hope you...

I spent 3 months exploring Bali â Canggu to Munduk â and this spot became my go-to. Even after countless visits, the food never got old. Easily the best restaurant Iâve found in Bali.
It's the only place that was packed every single evening. Youâll probably have to wait, but thatâs always a good sign, right?
Europeans love this place. In fact, I was usually the only non-European there â which says something about its popularity among travelers.
The view is decent, but the service is all about that famous Balinese warmth. It feels like home with a dash of paradise.
Everything is made fresh to order, so yeah, youâll wait a bit for your food, but trust me, itâs so worth it.
Unlike many places around Bali, this restaurant is spotless â no annoying flies buzzing around your table!
And the best part? The prices are crazy reasonable for what you get. Youâd pay triple at a fancy Ubud restaurant for the same quality.
Oh, and don't miss the âRujakâ â it's a sweet-sour fruit salad thatâll blow your mind. Every dish I tried was incredible, so you really canât go wrong with anything...
Read moreIt is hard to tell from the street that there is a sweet little restaurant overlooking the Munduk jungle and rice field valley with the most delicious food. We ordered the spinach-Kangkong, fried Tempe along with the chicken soup. All excellent including a few deserts we wanted to try. Everything was so delicious and the sisters and mother who run the place are so kind and friendly. The place is very clean. It started pouring down rain during our meal and the staff called a driver to get his back to our hotel. Next time, I would...
