Unfortunately our least favourite accommodation in Bali. The family running the hotel were nice, however the whole lower basement level where the rooms were located smelled strongly of mold. There might be some signs of water damage on the ceiling. Our room smelled damp and musty as well, and there was seemingly not a lot of good ventilation (even with the balcony door open). There was no fan, so we always had the balcony door open due to the heat as well as the musty odour. There was also no mosquito net for the bed. If you're sensitive to noise, there are also a few roosters who live on the land right below the room (but this realistically might be hard to avoid while in Munduk!) The pricing for things like motorbike rental, laundry, taxi service etc were all more expensive to book through the hotel compared to what you can find in the immediate surrounding area. On a positive note, the private balcony area was very peaceful and chill! It had nice seating and overlooked the forest. The view from the restaurant's patio was also lovely and great for sunsets. This accommodation might be better suited if you're just spending a night, as it's very reasonably priced and does have...
Read moreI am a bit confused about some of the other reviews because the place is really nice and the location is really scenic. It was a really nice view to wake up to. It didn't smell of mould or damp or anything, just pine, which is typical for wooden buildings and I think the smell is quite pleasant. The only thing is it would be nice to have a water filter in the guesthouse area as I got quite thirsty at night and ran out of water. And maybe they should put the WiFi password in the rooms, because I never received it. Because of the altitude it's not warm enough to need AC at least for me, so I didn't miss it. This guesthouse is basic but lovely. Clean, hosts are friendly, beautiful location, and best of all a great price. Stay here for a night or two you...
Read moreCame here for breakfast and the menu was misleading. The breakfast options on the menu said you could pay a small fee to add on an espresso-based coffee. So I ordered a cappuccino but then the staff said it was bali coffee only. I pointed out that it said espresso-based and she then consulted with the other staff who then said it was a shot of espresso only. Which is not a coffee. Anyways then my breakfast said it was to come with a side of fruit. It came out with sliced up cucumber and tomato. I then had to point out that the menu said fruit. The prices were also not cheap, compared to other places we’ve eaten around Bali. While it was a good view, there’s many places in Munduk with the same view...
