I used to passed by this small eatery. I live nearby. Every night i can see bikes & car parked in front of the kedai. Super curious š so I decided to try it.
My honest review: if you have a similar palate as me then you can take it as a consideration. Their place is cozy, located at a perumahan, best to park nearby. The road is narrow, bike is ok.
For Food; ok, so this is my 1st time trying Szechwan style food, if you are looking for mild spices to a strong level of spices for your meal, this is your go to. I tried 3 menus, they all got peanuts-if uāre allergic please check first. Tried their ubi noodles like japchae, their chicken, and rice flour noodle (sorry the name was forgotten already). They all have coriander-if you donāt like it, please check. Their staffs and owner are very attentive-friendly enough for me.
Again, if you never try this kind of food please ask their staff for recommendations and order as their advices. The chicken was a lil bit salty (for me), eat this with rice šš». At the end, Id love to try different kind of food and being adventurous sometimes. But my Indo/Sundanese tongue had a hard time getting used to the spices and coriander. But i do recommend you to try and taste the authentic local Chinese resto in the town š«¶š»...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely food! I donāt think I ever found chinese foods like they have here in other Chinese restaurants but maybe I havenāt visited lot of places. I think their food is just authentic. The shop is called kedai because itās homey, small, peaceful and quiet. The tea omg was to die for. Despite they offer some kinds of tea on their menu, they only had 2 kinds available at the time we visited. I forgot the name but it was red tea. And the way they served it to us omg so amazing, peaceful, they taught us like how to use the tea pot, how many times we could brew it. So so so yummy. We ordered noodles made of sweet potato starch with a hint of spicy and sour taste. But I didnāt find it too spicy it was very enjoyable even tho it was a bit strong so couldnāt really slurp it without coughing afterwards. I really loved the broth there was a mixture of peanut jam in it i think or like sesame paste i really loved it. The mapo tofu was good too. The chicken jue yun or something wasnāt really good for me, was a bit too fatty, lot of chicken skins. The kuotie was made of lamb but I didnāt eat it, my friend said it was good and the chili oil paste to dip it into was amazing too. Definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered Niu Rou Mian and Wanmin Pangsit. For the drink I ordered plain warm tea.
The Niu Rou Mian had mild taste but little bit savoury, not a strong flavour. I liked to add chili oil to spice it up. The beef was tender, the noodle was well cooked too, had bokchoy, scallion, and coriander leaf as garnish. To refresh it I added pickled radish.
The Wanmin Pangsit had spicy background flavour. What shocked me was they used Sichuan pepper corn in it. Well it was my first time tasted Sichuan pepper corn. I liked it, it had citrusy aroma and made your tongue numb. They really added a lot of spices in this dish. I'd like to recommend this dish to you.
The place kinda spacy, but theres no parking lot, only on side walk. It was easy to park if you using motorcycle. The tables were quite a lot, so you could make a gathering in it. Well maybe 20 people.
For me overall is good, recommended place and food, especially the...
