An exclusive restaurant at Kota Gede, Yogyakarta offering traditional as well as popular foods and beverages. I have come here twice with my students and colleagues last year. We have tried, among others, oxtail soup, fried Javanese noodle, karedok (mixed boiled vegetables with sweet spicy peanut sauce), serai (lemongrass) drink, and fried rice. The foods and beverages were delicious but not extraordinary. A clean, spacious place with a beautiful traditional Javanese (joglo) architecture and large tables. Clean toilets and a good musholla (moslem prayer place) with a facility for taking a wash before the prayer (wudlu). Expensive. Needs more selfie picture spots for young people.

We followed our principle that when we are not sure, always ask the locals. The answers are presented by simply asking. This is recommended by the locals with good design and good food. We are really happy that we got to come to this place. Quiet and good food. The service is, again, central Javanese soft spoken and tender care. We really enjoyed it. The food is not much different from other parts of Indonesia according to my expat tongue. But it is good and you can choose sweet or spicy ones. This was the last stop before we left and we had a good ending here. You should also give it a try when you can. This place is unlike others, it is simply good.

The moment I stepped in, the ambiance felt warm and elegant perfect for enjoying authentic Indonesian flavors. I tried a few local favourites n was pleasantly surprised by how familiar some dishes were. The satay reminded me of what we have back in Malaysia, juicy, smoky n perfectly grilled with a rich peanut sauce. It’s amazing how these culinary roots connect across the region. Overall, the food was delicious, well-seasoned n beautifully presented. Omah Dhuwur is a great place to enjoy traditional dishes in a serene, cultural setting. Highly recommended for both locals and travellers looking for that classic Indonesian taste!

Service and Atmosphere where good. Service was sometimes not around, the restaurant had no guests... But the quality of the food was OK but for the price it should be very good and homemade with passion. Fries with the meat from convenience Food nothing special. Sauce had no definite taste, just a mass. The iga soup had a peace of iga still super hard to chew and no fresh spices used except the chillies. The mushrooms seemed also from the can from the supermarket. Spaghetti far from "al Dente"... All over 4 persons we paid 1600000 RP, for the quality of food like a cantin far too expensive. I like to pay whatever needed for best quality but this was absolutely nothing compared to the price. there are far better restaurants in yogya. I know this restaurant since more than 30 years, it was always good to eat there but now, would never recommend it to anyone anymore. Sorry. You need if you want of coarse to get much better, competition is better and...
