I’ve dined at Azumaya twice now, both experiences being very very pleasant! I give 4 stars for now just because I realized the second time I ordered a Chicken Katsu Curry I noticed that the size of the Chicken Katsu was significantly smaller this time compared to my first visit (please check photos!). I’d really like to see the consistency in the future! But who knows- they may have weighed the same but only differed in size. Regardless, I would say that for the portion and quality of food, they are very fairly priced!
We had unagi don the first time and enjoyed it very much too! Portion was great for its price, but we hadn’t ordered it for a second time yet! Hopefully it will be consistent when I visit again :-)
The Yakitori selection we ordered was just great! We also had the potato salad, which tasted great, however I personally enjoy my potato salad with a bit of a ‘rougher’ texture, theirs is more soft, but still great!
What I really really appreciate the most out of this restaurant is that the service is incredible! In our first visit, we felt the Miso Soup to be too salty for our taste and requested for a bit more hot water to dilute the soup- but they insisted on making us a new batch! It was really not necessary as we were happy with just extra hot water but they really went above and beyond. The second time we dined in, the miso soup was perfect 👌🏼!
This has become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants so far! Good food, great service, fairly...
Read moreGreat recommendation by Ruby for introducing me to this restaurant. I could only wish I visited this place sooner. The ambience, style, and vibes is a much needed escape from the bustling night markets and street food.
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was immediately calmed by its posh interior. From seating to ordering, the process was seamless.
At first, I had my reservations about the quality of the food given the price point, but as the yakitori sticks rolled out, I was well impressed. Out of the 10 sticks I ordered, every one of them did not disappoint. Texture, seasoning, char, everything was on point. Small details like keeping the 'holding' part (of the skewers) clean, surprised me further.
(If you find the seasoning a bit heavy-handed, it's because yakitori is usually paired with sake/ beers.)
From the food, I could tell every one of the staff take their jobs seriously, and their discipline (to maintain the tranquil ambience), had to be commended.
Food was great, ambience was great, staff was great, and most importantly (to me), pricing was great. I didn't have to think twice about leaving a tip.
This place has earned a must-eat-every-trip...
Read moreI visit this place at 8th September 2024, and today is 11th September 2024, I'm editing the review, because I dont put any review yesterday, just 5 stars.
I have visit this place for 2 times, i remember the soba is too light flavor for me (I prefer something more savory), the oyakodon however, so good, it soft, the sauce is great.
All yakitori that we ate, taste great, i do remembered the first time we visit the taste can be a little bit too strong, but the second one is just perfect for me.
My friend ordered curry torikatsu, and we didn't expect the katsu size, it was huge.
Services and Atmosphere feels really modern & high class, but not intimidating much for me.
I dont really have any suggestion, as i enjoy most of the food, and i'm kind of person that prefer something strong flavored so thats why i don't have much comment about the soba, its not the soba fault, its just me, a little bit picky.
The price, its not cheap obviously, but wont make you kneel down also, just...
