Meilleur Cafe & Patisserie — Restaurant in Batam City

Firstly, when we walked in the cafe, the atmosphere is full of noises. Due to narrow spaces between the seats, the next table aunties that are making lot of noises, speaking loudly, has greatly disturbed us. Secondly, the mushroom spaghetti is less than what we expected. The spaghetti is not al dente like what it's supposed to, it's kind of hard, and overall this dish left an unpleasant lingering taste resembling numb feeling in our taste buds. Thirdly, although the chicken katsu is beautiful in appearance, but in terms of taste, it's disappointing. The chicken itself, although it's crispy on the outside, it looked like the meat is wet, watery, and also tasteless, no salt at all. This also applies to the french fries that smelt like it's made from whole potato mix, including the skin. Fourthly, the vanilla latte. It's our favourite drink and we don't get it how could two same drinks could have different taste? One of them is sweet and the other one, not. What happened here? Lastly, the service is disheartening. Initially, we ordered a matcha cheesecake, the waitress told us that there's no more of this menu so we ordered another one of other flavour. The waitress came back again, telling us there's no cheesecake, there's only crepe left, oreo and biscoff. We ordered the oreo one, and the waitress went into the kitchen, but she did not left us for long, she brought the news that there's only biscoff left. We decided to give the biscoff crepe a try. But life is full of surprises, what came out from the kitchen is.....biscoff cheesecake! All I know is we were so speechless. She told us that the reason for this change in dessert is because there is no more crepe left, so she kindly changes it, without asking our opinion :). This kind of service is not professional enough for us and it seems like the waitress herself is inexperienced and have no inept handling the customers.

However, it's not like there is nothing good coming out from this place. The decoration is nice and pleasant to the eyes. They keep their hygiene well, this benefits us greatly especially in this pandemic. The cream base they used in the mushroom sauce is a delight. When you come to this place, try the carbonara spaghetti one. Their salad dressing and tomato sauce are also tasty. Although the cheesecake is unexpected, it's very delicious, the sweetness and firmness are just about right. The details about greeting, thanking, even opening the door for customers are very much appreciated. About the service, chances are the waitress is a newcomer, thus it's normal to be a bit heavy-handed. There is also a possibility that since today a birthday party was held, large amount of customers come in and it causes casualties. We does not write this review to spread malicious content or attack anyone. We hope that we can learn from mistakes and keep improving, doing our best. This is one of the best cafe I've ever visited.

I went here after some people recommended this place to me and ordered Chicken Cutlet and Grilled Chicken (both with mushroom sauce).

The food are truly the best! The outside of the chicken cutlet are pretty crispy and the mushroom sauce compliments it very well. The grilled chicken is soft and easy to chew, to the point it doesn't get stuck between my teeth. Both dishes taste great in their own way, so I really recommend trying one of them if you're curious, as they truly worth the price.

The employees are very friendly too! Even during the busy hours, they are very attentive and doesn't mind explaining the menu as well as giving me food and dessert recommendations.

The interior layout is pretty normal to me, however it is definitely a cozy place to relax and enjoy some food and sweets. I truly felt comfortable in this place.

Overall, this cafe is one of the best place you can visit, whether it's for dine-in, having a cup of coffee, or even hanging out with friends. Sadly I don't have a chance to enjoy some cake at the time, but I would definitely return and try the recommended cakes and...

Ordered Lasagna, Carbonara spaghetti, Chix grilled and etc but all of us were very thirsty after the meal! Chef nak kawin kah?? But all the cakes we tried were not bad! Worth the try!!

5 adults and 3 kids (2yo, 6yo, 9yo) were considered as 7 head counts in the VIP room! Asked NICELY if we could negotiate with the manager about excluding the 6yo (we came right after their dinner) when we were on the second floor, the staff insisted that the manager not gonna come and talk to us, we can go down IF WE WANT TO! I was “amazed” by how she talked to me. Darn rudeeeeeeee! If it wasn’t for the kids, I would have just left. The kids wanted to eat the cake so badly…… After going down for negotiation and approaching the manager, they excluded the 6yo kid. We ended up spending Rp 700,000++ on weekend night, not that we couldn’t afford right. But the way the staff talked to us definitely makes us not gonna go back again.

PS: The aircon in the VIP room was not strong enough. It was quite warm for the 8 of us to sit inside together. Well, probably our blood was...
