got the chance to go here alone for early dinner, since it was just few yards away from my hotel.
I had expectation of the legendary clean and simple Bak Kut with traditional strong garlic flavor as I had tasted back in hometown and other chinatown restos. It was all different!
Bak Kut served here was more dense in herbs and flavor, the soup is thicker and complex.. What a great flavor..
Friends said that there were two kinds of Bak Kut, the clean and the thick one (some also said white and black Bak Kut). Their origins made the difference, the clean is from ancient traditional chinesse recipee, the thick is from some specific region of chineese ethnic that also passed down thru generation.. - Wow, just like Fo Shan vilage that originate Kung Fu legends :) -
Anyway, did I mentioned that it was PORK? Yes its PORK meat with four kind of different parts and processings, intestines, and ribs mixed along with vegetables (pork steamboat).. I like it, definitely will taste it again someday..
Staffs here I don't think they know the exact ingridients of the Bak Kut.. since it was new to me, I asked them what's in it how big it was (they served personal bowl, medium, and large), and they can't answer.. Or maybe they can't really proficient in Bahasa? The mid-aged lady (prob. Owner) then came and explained to me nicely - but some ingridients kept said in hokkien chineese which I had no idea what she said - so I ordered med-bowl Bakut for IDR 50K, cakwe (deep fried flour sausage) for IDR 7K, Luo Han Kuo juice for IDR 5K, and flower tea for IDR 5K.
Luo Han Kuo is kinda fruit with rich benefits, (go ask google what exactly are they), tastes sweet and bit sour, better order it cold. Flower tea (I suppose it was chrysant flower.. Google it also for benefits) taste cleaner and refreshing, I also order it cold.
Another great taste...
Read moreBak Kut Teh Port Klang is a nice place for family eating or friends.
Ordered A Large serving priced IDR60k , could be shared for 4 persons. The broth soup is thick and clear, it also comes with minced garlic so you can add it as much as you like. The server also will ask you if you want Pork innards in your dish or not.
We also ordered a broccoli dish, it also tasteful and cooked perfectly.
Another side dish, the Fried Samcan is kinda so-so though, but the sauce is hot and fresh altogether bringing new flavour to the dish.
For the drinks , Lo Han Kuo and (Chrysathemum) Flower Tea is a great choice , they are authentic ftuits & flowers not instant ones, also vome with great price for IDR 7K per glass.
Overall, I'm satisfied and will sure to come again in the...
