Delicious, low-key Thai food with some other Asian influences (Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.). Prices are a little high for Medan but the quality and the experience as a whole are well worth it. Cash & credit cards accepted. No English spoken. Staff is very friendly and attentive and they have menus with pictures to assist you.
Enjoyed a quiet dinner here on a weeknight. Wasn't too crowded when we arrived about 6:30pm but it was much busier an hour later. It's an upscale setting but without the fussiness, which I appreciate.
To begin they serve a complimentary (I think?) appetizer of sweet potato in salty cream sauce (the same sauce as in the mango sticky rice dessert). The saltiness of the sauce brings out the sweetness of the potato and makes it a delightful opening experience.
Their ayam bakar pandam was delicious - tender bits of boneless chicken grilled in pandam leaves. A little spicy but a lot flavorful! As an appetizer their popia vietnam are fantastic. Chock full of flavorfulness and a good blending of crunchy and non-crunchy. A hint of fresh mint leaves along with shrimp among other goodness. Three large rolls served with a spicy dipping sauce. And their phad thai is of course delicious and quite spicy. Not a lot of seafood but a few shrimp. Thai iced teas with cream are refreshing and not as sweet as you find them many places, making them easier to drink with the meal.
For dessert the mango sticky rice is a great option with a generous portion of very fresh mango and white rice covered in a salty cream sauce. Their bubur is also very good - sort of like boba that isn't fully formed with a delicious prevalence of gula merah (palm sugar) along with the salty cream sauce.
This was a superb experience and highly recommended. I can't...

Services are slow, so-so, and bill was inaccurate (extra drinks from heavens know where). The food are nothing to write home about. It's tasty and fresh but unless Thai food tastes the same as Indonesian, then this restaurant is about as authentic as local recipe.
One bizarre experience is the complimentary dessert that was limited to one dish per table. Imagine splitting two small plates to 14 people. Such a cheap experience in a restaurant with 50K...
