I visited Sitara on a midweek evening having read several reviews online in advance. I had mentally noted comments about the warmth of the restaurant, the slow service, the beautiful decor and the tasty food. All of these comments were factual.
I arrived to find the restaurant totally deserted apart from a waitress and the owner (Sonia) who was very welcoming and friendly. I chose my table strategically near to the AC as advised by a previous reviewer. A rather nervous, uncommunicative waitress took my order after several minutes of studying the very extensive menu. Cons: 1- Two waitresses on a Saturday night! I had to personally walk down to the reception and order another round of drinks and naans for our table
2- It gets quite hot. Aircon’s not strategically located
3- Food was on the saltier side. We returned the yogurt as it was beyond sour. Chicken was okay. Infact most of the curries tasted the same. We save dinner our stomachs for a bigger dessert elsewhere.
4- No cocktails available despite having 3 pages on the menu for cocktails. The only beer available was Bintang. Thankful for that as it was the only way to down the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at Sitara restaurant, right from the warm welcome to the amazing ambience and the delicious food. We tried aloo chaat which was very yummy. We ordered Malai Kofta and Dal Makhani in the main course and we were surprised to find the authentic taste as well as right amount of spices in the food! Masala Kulcha and garlic naan were up to the mark. We were craving for masala tea and we finally found it here and it was like wow! It couldn’t have been better than this. Our trip to Bali would have been incomplete without this sumptuous meal.
If you are an Indian or you love Indian food, Sitara is the must go-to place in Bali. Highly...
