The Alleyway Cafe — Restaurant in Denpasar Timur

Nice place to chill, they serve coffee, cake (desserts), variety of western fusion food with of course bit of influences from east esp. Indonesia. The indoor dining place with aircon is quite small, they have outdoor kind of backyard dining area also. We sat at the outdoor space on this visit. The service was good, waiters very helpful, foods & beverages came out quick although we came in big groups on dinner time. Beverages variety, taste and quality are standard. The food taste and quality also standard. I ordered surf and turf with medium rare rump beef, it served warm with medium well stage of grill (oh well...) plus 2pcs of calamary and flour battered shrimp. Seafood quality just standard, the freshness was so so, the sides came with ir are lack of seasoning and oily baby potato, with small pile of salad. I did tried few of my friends food order, their jalapeno (or cheese) sausage have a good meaty taste with nice grill mark on it, tried fish and chips and surprisingly the fish was fresh and fried to perfection (not dry, not oily, still moist inside) but the chips were disappointed; no crisp at all, bit oily, no seasoning and still taste raw in the middle. Tried also their mac and cheese and it was lack of seasoning and cheesiness. Also tried their honey sweet glazed grilled chicken, they use kind of 'rujak' sauce on the chicken, different than my expectations from a honey sweet glazed grilled chicken 😅. Overall nothing special on our visit last time, if I'm visiting this cafe on the future, I'll order fish and chip or their beef sausage but asked to change the chips into their potato wedges (tried my friend's and the best of all the potato...

Incredible quality food. Flavor, presentation and execution are all above and beyond what you'd expect of such a little store.

In the picture you'll see the Big Breakfast bought at 25% discount with eggs perfectly poached and their fish and chips. Their fish size is very generous. It's not just a thin slice of fish with a ton of batter. The shop also has tons of other food options; all equally delightful. Compliments to the chef!

Surprisingly for being a cafe, their drinks are not quite on par with their food. It's still great drinks and coffee, but it doesn't compare to what food they serve. I am also not a big fan of them using paper straws. If you want to seem eco-friendly, commit to metal straws.

Buy foods at the discounted day and it's super worth it. Otherwise the price is simply 'fair.'

This place is recommended by a friend who often came here regulary. So I was curious about this place (specially it was close from my place) and I get here when I had chance. First time I go here with My wife and my kid, the smell's and atmosphere was good, seats and table arrangements was clean and tidy. Now about the foods... honestly it was great with the price, the taste is beyond my imagination 👌🏻, another thing it's bother me while we ready to order, the servant serve us not to friendly, I mean not so communicative (example: at least he should explain to us what the description on the menu we'd like to order), but that's ok, maybe he had a bad day that day 😄. My suggestions is, beside those service...maybe could make a bigger parking space for customers, specially when they come by car, coz this place had a big potential for hanging out...
