Gudeg is one of the well known authentic food from Yogyakarta. You can find any Gudeg restaurant everywhere in Yogyakarta but Gudeg Bu Hj Ahmad is the one that I recommended most.
The place is quite huge that most people often brings their own colleagues, friends, or families in a big number. This could be happen because the restaurant has big tables. The price is reasonable but a bit higher than the hawker one. For comparison, the hawker often sells the Gudeg at the range of 8k-13k, but Bu Hj Ahmad sells it for 13k-40k. You'll be delighted to choose from a range of Gudheg side dishes, including shredded chicken, chicken breast, and chicken innards. While the restaurant is quite comprehensive, it could benefit from a bit more maintenance. The service might come across as a bit formal, but still courteous.
On the bright side, the restrooms are kept quite clean, and there's plenty of street parking available. There is no Halal logo on this...
