Ate here yesterday after reading about it in Lonely Planet. Ordered the tuna steak and the fruit drink as the guide recommended. The tuna tasted alright, but within a few minutes, my lips swelled up like a scene out of the Nutty Professor. Luckily, I am not allergic to any seafood and have been trained in HACCP and seafood safety so I had an idea of what was going on - histamine poisoning or scombrotoxicity. I hope everyone reads this because while it usually isn’t too serious, it can be deadly.
Aside from the tuna incident, my boyfriend ordered the mie goreng (fried noodles), which tasted like it contained, or maybe had been cooked over, a diesel flame. We did not eat it.
