Dito's — Restaurant in East Nusa Tenggara

Ate here yesterday after reading about it in Lonely Planet. Ordered the tuna steak and the fruit drink as the guide recommended. The tuna tasted alright, but within a few minutes, my lips swelled up like a scene out of the Nutty Professor. Luckily, I am not allergic to any seafood and have been trained in HACCP and seafood safety so I had an idea of what was going on - histamine poisoning or scombrotoxicity. I hope everyone reads this because while it usually isn’t too serious, it can be deadly.

Aside from the tuna incident, my boyfriend ordered the mie goreng (fried noodles), which tasted like it contained, or maybe had been cooked over, a diesel flame. We did not eat it.

All in all, probably the most terrifying meal I’ve ever stumbled onto. Steer clear...

We went there, too many white people; for if your searching for a local restaurant. The food was delicious. The beef steak was more than “well done”, in fact it was “congratulations”… like the leather off a shoe… delicious taste nontheless. We asked for sambal, got ketchup, asked again and got nibbling sause. If you want sambal you need to be specifiek and probaby won’t get it. But good place anyways, the veggies and the mango juice was something else. The staff is nice, they just dont know...

Located in the center of Bajawa City, very small cozy place, with bright lamps at night (quite catchy). Many varieties of food, love the taste (they sell pork dishes that is not on the menu), but take long time to cook. It's ok since life in Bajawa is so slow & we have not much to do.
