A Fung — Restaurant in Jakarta

We went here for lunch yesterday on my Indonesian wife's insistence.. This business model is familiar and famous from her childhood..

It's an institution she said..

There were 6 staff present that I could count and as it was 4pm they were not busy..

The first impression is a very clean and modern shop 👍 The ordering process was simple but 3 staff were involved and they were not helpful and as a customer who actually pays their wages you were made to feel not welcome 😞 There were limited drink options with no tea available 🤔 Only rice noodles available and the kwetiau flat noodles cost 9,000rp extra.. Really 😞 The meals were prepared quickly 👍 However... They weren't delivered to our table (this is the first time experiencing this in Indonesia in 3 years) we had to collect our meals from the main counter ourselves while the 3 staff present played on their phones 😞😞 They got the order wrong They did not give the kwetiau noodles but vermicelli instead 😞😞 Meals were well presented and looked nice 👍 My wife said that she enjoyed her meal but it lacks a Wow factor 🤔 Myself I didn't enjoy the flat baso they looked like they didn't contain much beef and had a plastic texture 😞 The round baso was nice 👍 I have eaten many baso in Indonesia and Jakarta.. This place is the most expensive by far.. We have been to several other places in a similar price bracket but this place lacks considerably 😞 So... Would I come back again 🤔

OVERPRICE, NOT TASTY, NOT WORTH A CENT

Betul kata emak gw klo mau nyari tempat makan harus liat dulu rame atau ngga pas gw sampe di sana cm ada 1 customer lg makan. Gw langsung samperin kasir lah pesen makanan disuguhin dah daftar menu yg semua serba 59.000 ! Karna ga enak udah nyamperin masak ga pesen langsung kabur akhirnya gw pilihlah paket yg mana ada 3 bakso gepeng, 2 bakso urat, 1 bakso tahu + bihun. Kebetulan ada banner shopeepay cashback 30% pas gw bayar ternyata cuma dapat cashback 10.000 dan ga ditulis di banner nya maksimal cm 10.000!! Anggaplah tuh seporsi 50.000 jujur gw belum pernah beli semangkuk bakso semahal ini. Paling mahal juga 30ribuan

Ga nyampe 5 menit udah jadi tuh pas ditaro di meja gw kok aneh gw ga nyium aroma kaldu yg biasa mengundang selera makan? Apa jangan2 gw anosmia?? Pas gw nyium parfum gw masih kecium ah. Dan bener dong pas gw icip tuh kuah nya ga berasa kaldu nya bahkan aroma bawang aja hampir ga kerasa cuy! Kuahnya betul2 bening ga kayak yg di pinggir jalan kan biasanya kuning kecoklatan. Cuma dikasih bumbu pelengkapnya saus, sambel, kecap, dan jeruk nipis tp tetep aja klo basic kaldunya aja ga kerasa ga akan ngaruh tuh pelengkap. Pas gw icip baksonya anjir hambar cuk! Enakan bakso pinggir jalan sumpah deh!

Gw sampe pulang ke rumah nyesel bukan main masih bingung ngapain gw makan di tempat yg sepi begitu. Udah tempatnya panas, desainnya kuno ga ada pintunya, pasang AC juga masih panas ya iyalah ga ada pintunya gimana mau dingin?? Terus disetel tv yg isinya iklan semua dengan musik elevator yg bikin ngantuk. Starbucks mahal meskipun minuman biasa aja tp oke lah dia bisa jual suasana dan enak buat nongki klo ini kaga ada istimewanya cuk! Gw kagak pernah denger bakso AFUNG seumur hidup emg terkenal banget ye??? Orangnya yg mana sih? Yg ada cuma pegawai doang di sana. Sumpah gw mau kasitau ama dia bakso lu kaga enak cuk! Setidaknya seasoning lu tambahin nape udah mahal masak kudu hemat2 gitu keluarin modal??

Begonya gw adalah beda sekitar 3-4 ruko ada WARUNG KITO yang menunya lebih banyak dan harga lebih terjangkau ada yg murah ada yg mahal ga kayak ini semua pukul rata 59.000! Dan tempatnya juga lebih bagus daripada ini. Fyi gw cuma customer ye bukan pegawainya WARKIT. Gw ngomong apa adanya klo bisa milih ulang gw bakal makan...

Tanggapan pertama saya adalah tokonya bersih dan terlihat cukup modern. Untuk bakso, rasanya pas-pasan. Kecuali untuk baso uratnya, itu rasanya di atas rata-rata. Kuahnya juga cukup saja. Satu hal negatif dari restaurant ini adalah pilihan minuman yang sempit. Seingat saya hanya disediakan teh-botol Sosro dan air mineral. Untuk pelayanan, bisa dibilang sudah cukup. Pelayanan cepat. Satu hal lagi, menurut saya harga di restoran ini cukup mahal. Tetapi mungkin itu standard Jakarta. My first impression is that the shop looked neat and clean, it also seems quite modern.
