So far I know this resto is a well-known restaurant that specializes in traditional Pontianak cuisine. Established in 1973, it has earned a reputation for its authentic flavors and commitment to quality.
This time, some friends asked me to join and enjoy in exploring comfort food, and Choipan Singkawang at Merapi Restaurant in North of Jakarta.
For me, it may not fully capture the authentic flavors of Singkawang, the dishes still deliver a satisfying taste experience that warms the soul, but the flavor itself are enjoyable enough.
With a bit of refinement to enhance authenticity, this menu has the potential to become a favorite spot for anyone craving delicious comfort food. It's a delightful journey for the palate, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves!

Mixed satay of chicken and beef meat with peanut sauce also Rp 35.000 each portion of 8 pcs, with ketupat add Rp 9.000. All price are...
Read moreGood price point and generous portioning, there’s a very good quality control on the food here and there is a good variety of sides and snacks too.
The Sup Iga here falls more towards light, it’s not heavily salted like how other restaurants usually serve them so for me this is mid, but the green chilli condiment really saved the entire dish. Sambal here is quite good, kicks very well and elevate most dishes I ordered. The satay here is also executed very well, good grilling skill since there’s barely any burnt and the meat remains tender. Their fried tofu here is my favorite sides, extremely huge cuts and it comes with a sambal.
It might be crowded during peak hours, but not to the point where there will be...
