Decided to visit Central Restaurant Mangga Besar for dinner, I ordered bunch of dishes, such as:
Saklon Goreng Mentega: this dish is one of my favorite dishes. The sauce is rich and thick, sweet and with a little hint of sourness and totally perfect combination with the deep fried bullfrog. I requested the skin to be separated and deep fried, so I can munching it like crackers (sadly the skin have a little bit fishy smells in it 😅, but overall the dish is suitable to my taste).
Udang Goreng Mayones: this dish is delicious, the shrimp itself is pretty fresh in the time of my visit, the only down point from me is they leave a little bit of shrimp skin near the tail (maybe for extra texture and crunchiness, but i'm finding it very annoying 😬). Taste wise, this dish is delicious with abundant of seasoned mayonnaise.
Bebek Panggang 1/2 Ekor: must said that i'm pretty stunned by its deliciousness. I honestly can't said it's the best that I ever tried, but this one is absolutely one on the best 5 in Jakarta by my opinion 🥰.
Sapo Tahu Jepang Seafood: this one is delicious, totally recommended this one for you guys to try, they used silk tofu, Shiitake mushroom, carrot, ginger and various seafood like shrimp, squid and fish meat.
Sapi Lada Hitam: this dish is taste very rich (have a nice crunch in it, but not dry at all 👍🏻), and for presentation they added nice colors by adding red and green paprika.
For today dinner at Central Restaurant, i'm gonna rate...
Read moreBetter service since the last time. The resto was full packed but, hey, they say it's a good sign. Had lunch with fam and some of the food took sooo long to arrive (so long in fact that i'm able to do a second order for the dimsum). Though it was full, the waitresses were really nice and one of them patiently waits near out table (common practice in a dimsum resto, as far as i know) -- though i didn't expecting it, considering how packed it was that day.
The parking situation was a bit tricky. Got to park at the hospital across the road and it is a busy road, mind you. But one can't complain if one already choose to eat here (actually it was mom who insisted we go to this place for lunch).
The food itself, well, yeah... ok lah. My mom liked the ayam nanking and ubur2 bunga. I really enjoyed the pao telor asin. Generous fillings of cholesterol...
Read moreWe chose to have lunch here based on the reviews. We stepped inside and it was busy, a good sign. The menu was extensive but a lot of things were not available, so we ordered two chicken dishes. The honeydew juice was fresh so I was looking forward to the food! The Ayam Rebus was your average garlic chicken dish. Nothing more nothing else. However the Ayam Nanking tasted nothing like chicken, although the waitress insisted that it is a mix of shrimp and chicken. Overall, the food was expensive as it tasted indifferent and oily. As we were leaving we also noticed to our surprise that the fish in the tank looked sickly and one was dead. We were so lucky that we did not order any seafood. It is good though that they give you a discount voucher for the next time you feel brave enough...
