Previously visited this junction twice and had an okay dining experience in Dragon flames. Yesterday we walked into the place with visiting family members and dinner was a nightmare. Air was polluted by ciggarette smell and we came out smelling like a pub. Severely understaffed and existing staff have very little or no hospitality training. We did not reserve which was our fault and was seated next to a group of chainsmokers, literally 3 kids picking up 1 cigg after another ( I thought Jakarta banned smoking in closed area so how did Dragon Flames get their break?) Repeatedly asked to be shifted to the non-smokers area but tables were fully reserved. Asked the reception to check with reserving parties if they are ok to be moved to smoking area and reception did a wonderful job ignoring our request. Fair enough, it was a busy night. But THEN, as we walked out, 1 table in non smoking area was filled with smokers. I guess we saved the trouble since shifting would still have meant we would still be smelling like pub. Not the friendliest bunch of staff you'll encounter. We cleaned our own tables and refreshed our own plates. Any request for more things, including food was tended to after 2-3 hand gestures. Felt a little bad for the staff, definitely need extra hands if the place is 100% capacity. Not like the owners cant afford hiring, the place is almost always full. Portions have become smaller. At least by 30%. I dined on a separate occassion as a couple, ordered 1 fried rice and we still had leftovers. Yesterday, a child could have easily cleaned a plate of fried rice. Mayo shrimp was sooooo little (110k). The only decent order was thai chilli full sized fish. So I ordered just enough and when everything came out doll sized, reordering would take at least another 30 mins so we dropped that idea. The only other decent sized dishes were the puddings. Careful ordering fish Kitchen did not do a good job filleting the fish. Cousin and I had bones stuck in our throat. I asked for a little rice to gulp down the bone and one waiter actually obliged giving away a 1/4 rice bowl (with a frown on her face). Won't recommend ordering fish here.
Halal chinese food seem to be a winner in this area. Inspite of the nightmarish combination of service, food and expensive price, the place always causes traffic in Kemang raya. A competitor that fills in the gaps could easily swipe the crowd from...

Read moreCan't say I'm excited to go back. Parking was hard, you have to get the valet service, otherwise you can't park. That's 30K already.
Seated and served took almost more than 1 hour. We pressed the bell, to call waiter, many many times. Only (maybe) to be ignored. It wasn't that busy, but seemingly they only put 2 waiters in charge for entire morning shift.
For the price they charged for food. I expected better and swift service, alas, this was to dissatisfaction. I ordered 7 food dishes, until the end of my visit (in span of 2 whole hours) I was only served 4. When asked where it was. It hasn't been made yet. Outrageous!
The only saving grace, the food taste was OK, but not too keen on visiting again.
Definitely needs improvement. They said they had only 2 waiters and 2 cooks. But it wasn't that busy. Might be hard to handle, but this was too...
