Read moreOverpriced and underwhelming. I went in at 11am for brunch, hungry af, and really excited to try out this cafe I’ve been passing by on my way to work for the past 2 years.
The place is actually really nice, I love the minimalist modern look with big open windows that make maximum use of natural lighting. But of course, a modern aesthetic comes with a modern style of service.
Basically I was given a printed barcode that I have to scan in order to look at the menu and place the order online. Personally I’m not very fond of this style of service because it lacks the humanity. I want to hold the menu, see beautifully photographed food, and talk to the staff to ask them about their opinions and suggestions. This just seems cold and isolating. The waiters responded really fast though, like the moment you put in your order or close your bill online they will come straight to your table, so kudos to them I hope they all get paid well.
But anyway, on to the food and drink. I could not remember the name of the dish that I had for the main course but it was in the Savory section of the menu. The bread was fluffy, the tomato was sweet, the sausages salty, and the eggs were barely runny. I also ordered a Ginger Espresso which i didn’t quite enjoy, i mean i could taste the ginger i guess. Both of these items are just OK in my opinion, nothing special, so i was mildly disappointed.
Feeling unsatisfied, I ordered a banana waffle-thing from the Sweet section. And being a sweet-toothed little glutton that I am, of course I was pleased with every bite even though it all tasted just OK.
Overall, this whole experience did not live up to my expectations. The only thing I expected correctly was the high price because it is located in Kemang after all. Would I recommend this place? I’m not sure, I personally wouldn’t get back here. Once is enough.
Ps: Some of the items in your online menu don’t...
Read moreOrdered a hot Long Black coffee, tasted quite nice. Balanced bitterness and acidity.
I have to say the place is quite comfortable, one of the good places in Kemang to shelter you from the heat of Jakarta. The atmosphere is quite nice inside, and the seatings and tables are spaced enough that it doesn’t feel cramped. There are some tables outside if you want to smoke, and there are trees outside so it helps a lot with the heat during afternoons. Great for a small meetup with a friend or two, or maybe by yourself.
They’re selling their own merchandise and some coffee beans too.
Service was quick, the staffs are friendly, and are also helpful enough to give you the best experience possible.
The only downside that I can think of is probably the lack of parking spots at the front. If you bring a car, either you take the valet parking option available or you park your car at the Convenience store across this place.
Would definitely be a go to spot for me when looking for a...
