Exquise Bistro & Patisserie - Gunawarman — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went for my friend's birthday semi-lunch.

We came in 4 at 2ish PM on weekend. Not packed since its beyond lunch time and nowhere near afternoon tea time. Place was kinda small on the inside. We ordered this following items to share:

Miso Carbonara Penne - The bestt, the sauce flavorful. In fact we dipped all the other menu to this sauce.

Japanese-Style Fish and Chips - Creamy Edamame sauce was okay. Wasabi Tartar sauce....its just not it. Would say both sauces not complimeting the fish and chips since we dipped it in the miso carbonara sauce anyway. If intended to be a Japanese fusion, maybe you could try creamy sesame sauce.

Honey Glazed Fried Prawn - Sauce bit spicy but the honey glazed itself was too sweet. Probably make it tad sweet next time. Chili Mayonnaise sauce also not complimenting the dish. Probably could try some sour cream-type of sauces.

Chicken Karage - Karage's good, but then again its sauce was off. Was way to sour and not complimenting the dish at all. Probably, since this sauce is Thai fusion, better try sweet-and spicy Thai's sauce.

Pierre - Its a good choco cake. Feels premium, portion just enough.

Emilie - Our fav cakes. It was light, creamy, and well-balanced. Usually not a fan of mango-based dessert, but this one really stood out.

Edmond - Mocha taste was nice, i think the covered-nuts is caramelized + buttered? Cuz that thing's sooo good.

Laurent - Just a so so for us.

For drinks we ordered this following items + water:

Americano - This was just okay for me, borderline watered-down but thats okay, at least its balancing the dishes and cakes.

Ice Tea - Friend ordered, says just fine.

The Lychee - Lychee + mango + milk. Sounds overwhelming at first but surprisingly its good. Well-balanced i would say.

For facilities: the toilets clean, friendly waitresses, and cheap valet for that...

Baru buka around Nov’22 klo ngga salah. My first time here cos I usually going to their Menteng branch. Tempatnya ngga terlalu luas, but the decor interior is stunning. Ada beberapa spot yg bisa di book utk sekitar 10 org jg. Smoking areanya indoor tp di area terpisah.

Their pastry consistently good and fresh. Kue keringnya jg ok dan proper utk dikasih as a gift. Dessert and cake collection mereka jg banyak. They also serve all day breakfast menu, appetizer to dessert with wide ranges of options.

I’ve had lunch here and tried their milanese chicken. Similar w/ chicken katsu, using chicken fillet (breast), tender and well cooked. Katsunya msh crunchy dan atasnya dikasih topping bolognese sauce w/ mozzarella. Side dish salad and mash potatonya enak bgt, balancing the whole palate.

This place would be suitable if you’re looking for lunch/dinner place or a meeting over coffee.
