JX Kopitiam is a bustling, vibrant place, perfect for those looking to start their day with a hearty breakfast. The atmosphere is lively, often filled with patrons eager to enjoy the extensive menu options available. Whether you’re an early riser or someone looking for a late morning meal, this spot has something for everyone. The variety of dishes ensures that there is always something new to try, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences.
One dish that stands out for me is the fried seafood kwetiau with a half-boiled duck egg. This combination is simply unbeatable, offering a flavorful and satisfying meal that hits all the right spots. Every time I visit JX Kopitiam, I can’t resist ordering this same dish. The seafood is fresh, and the kwetiau is cooked to perfection, making it a go-to choice for anyone who appreciates a well-prepared meal.
However, dining at JX Kopitiam does require a bit of patience. The popularity of the place means it can get incredibly crowded, leading to longer wait times. On one particularly busy day, I found myself waiting for nearly an hour, only to discover that my order hadn’t been inputted into the system. This was quite frustrating, especially as hunger set in. Despite this hiccup, the quality of the food usually makes the wait worthwhile. The key is to be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours, but rest assured, the delicious dishes make it worth it in th...
Read moreCame in cause I heard so much about this place, good stuffs obviously.
Their lu rou fan is the besttttt, love their rice texture which is on the mushy side (similar to hokben's). They served it with some pickled veggies and salted veggies in broth with tangy chili sauce. Their tangy chili sauce complements perfectly with the rice and the tender pork as it cuts through the richness of the pork. Also they added tofu to the rice which was unusual to me, but I'm not complaining. Everything tastes so gooood!!! 🫶🫶
Kaya toast was also my favorite. Generous amount of kaya jam & butter. Perfectly toasted.
I also tried their jajanan pasar which I forgot what was the name but one of it was lapis pandan (?) And the other was the pink one made with rice flour. Both are so yummy!
The downside comes from the mie tomat seafood which came superrrrrr late, like we waited almost an hour for this dish. Asked over 5 times and they kept saying they're on the process of cooking it. Super disappointed with the service 🙃 the noodle itself taste similar like mie godog jawa but with seafood. Nothing spectacular but it is not bad.
Oh the atmosphere is really nice as well if you are seated at the 2nd floor as its not as crowded as the 1st floor so more relaxed...
Read moreIf most restaurant have one or only some of the menus that are recommended , than JX Kopitien for me only has one menu that is not recommended for me. Located within Pasar Muara Karang complex, JX Kopitien serve delicious food and drinks. Place wide, has indoor and outdoor area, service excellent, the waitress and waiters are quick and knowledgeable. Food came out fast despite crowded (as they always are every time I visit here especially during weekend) . For me the best of all the other tasty worth trying for dish is the Mie Tomat ( egg only 40K, seafood 50k) . Portion and fillings are generous, taste well balance although kinda sweet savory type. I love the tomato soup it is kinda sweet. Noodle is on a soggy kind of type, but complement each other perfectly, I could never get bored with this dish.
Bakmi Siantar is also recommended, portion wise, fillings are generous, pork, meat, egg , and others
Their kwetiaw both fried and siram worth to try as well
The teh tarik is also delicious, although kinda too sweet.
The only dish I wouldn't recommend is the nasi sayur, taste just fine, nothing special. Kinda pricey and consist...
