Kinshamo (金のしゃもじ) Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Jakarta

Recommended by a Japanese expat friend, I was curious to try this authentic Japanese restaurant, plus their signature menu is Kamo (Duck) Shabu-Shabu Kyoto, is something I haven't found in Jakarta yet.

Kinshamo opens every day from 6 PM. I highly recommend making an online reservation first.  In the reservation, you can choose either bar or table dining. They also provide private rooms.

We reserved for the dinner on Sunday at 6PM for the bar dining, but that time they only serve in table dining, but that  was okay as the place is comfortable and as typical of the privacy in an authentic Japanese restaurant, each table is separated and each has curtain to maintain the privacy. The air conditioner is cold. As a cold fan 😆, I felt more comfortable to dine in here. The staffs were friendly as well.

They provide various menu, from their famous duck shabu-shabu, skewers, onigiri, sashimi, karaage, rice dishes, noodles, and many more, including various alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

Kamo Shabu-Shabu Kyoto (IDR 320,000 for 2 persons) This menu is available for 1 person, too. It's their specialty that you cannot miss, especially in your first visit. A simple shabu-shabu that consists of thinly sliced ducks that need to cook fast in the boiling soup made with dashi and duck bone, then the duck is served with the soup along with the green onions. It's very simple yet has a great taste from the tender duck and the warm savory soup. Recommended!

Ginger Shoyu Karaage (IDR 35,000 for 2 pcs) I saw on Kinshamo's social media that their karaage from Hokkaido recipe is famous, too. That's why, we tried this one. Oh my, I have to say that this is THE BEST KARAAGE THAT I'VE EVER TRIED SO FAR! The chicken is so juicy, with a slightly gingery and savory soy sauce taste. It is less oily as they used canola oil.  Recommended!

Skewers We tried both the pork and duck skewers, but of all, I loved their Aigamo Roast Duck loin (IDR 30,000 per piece) the most. The duck skewer was so tender, juicy, and blended well with their salty and slightly nutty sauce. Recommended!

Tonkotsu Ramen (IDR 80,000) A simple ramen with a slice of pork chashu, a boiled egg, and green onions in a pork bone broth. The taste is decent..

Matsutake dobin mushi Unique experience bgt sih inii nyobain minum broth yg disajiin pake teko sama gelas. Brothnya enak bgt karna di dalemnya ada udang, jamur, tofu yg rasanya nyatu bgt dan pekat ga kaleng" sih ini

Special appetizer 4 dish & Sashimi moriawase Ini jatuhnya kyk platter sih. Isinya lengkap bgt ada tamago, udang, salmon, foie gras, sama hata yg udah ada saucenya masing" ya. Salmonnya juara sihh tebel dan berasa, tamago sama hatanya juga.

Chinese style steamed grouper MVP sih ini lembut bgt ikannya dan masuk bgt bumbunya ke dagingnya, ga berasa amis sama sekali, bumbunya lumayan kuatt but tiati ya masih ada sedikit bgtt duri di ikannya

Duck salad Ini jg sihh emang fokusnya lbh ke per-kamo-an yaa dagingnya ga alot kl biasa kita makan duck kan ada part yg lebih alot dan ga bisa ke kunyah tp yg ini beneran enak sih

Kamo shabu Porsi kamonya banyakk dan cuma di boil pake broth yg bening itu tp rasanya enak bgt inii, after ducknya abis baru diserve udon jadi makannya terpisah ya

Ice cream Baru kali ini makan es krim dengan tekstur dan rasa yg belum pernah aku makan sblmnyaa. Ini padet tp airy but kyknya ga creamy sihh ditambah ada hint lemon yg berasa yg nambah keunikan ice cream ini

Overall makanannya enak" sihh dan kalau penasaran bgt boleh dicoba. Saranku sih lampu di bagian table boleh di kurangin sedikit brightnessnyaa atau boleh pilih di bagian counter...

Japanese Omakase Restaurant Recommend @kinshamo_indonesia 🇯🇵 with Robata Style Food, Spanish Pork Satay, & Special Hot Pot. I've tried the signature dish which is Kamo Shabu Shabu Kyoto (Duck) and it was delightful! The service was outstanding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food plating was pleasing and my favorite dish was the Sliced Pork Belly Satay with Cheese 🤤 It was a wonderful experience dining here & I'm so satisfied....
